UPDATED with new video:
The Observer made another public appearance yesterday Saturday — this time at the Yankees/Indians baseball game. This follows a growing pattern of real-life Observer sightings, further blurring the line between alternate and reality. His other appearances include an NLF Game, Nascar and even American Idol. Here’s some photographic evidence of the elusive fellow, sent in by the awesome Fringeling:

Hats off to the Fox stunt-dept., though their Fringe ARG has whimpered, this has to go down as one of the best publicity stunts for a TV show in quite a while. Maybe these efforts bode well for a second season?

Well, the video isn’t working – I’m sure that 28 seconds of video of a blowout baseball game (from Saturday, not Sunday) is so precious to the MLB that it was immediately yanked from YouTube…
Anyway, I think this is an incredible PR stunt…I mean, I don’t know how many Fringe fans there are out there in the world, but if I’d seen any of these Observer “moments” live, I’d probably soil myself.
And just imagine the buzz caused by non-fans who are curious about some bald man (with no eyebrows to boot) that appears in the stands during the telecast. Surely the extra-curious may hop online to try and figure out who the heck the guy may be…which leads them to information about the show, which they read up on and may eventually decide to even sit down on Tuesday night and watch an episode.
Thanks for the heads-up on the date of the game — I’ve corrected the post.
It’s a shame that they pulled the video so soon — one would think Fox would want their man in the limelight on YT. I guess MLB don’t give a squat about that though
I agree, the buzz will/has certainly piqued a few non-fans interest. Although, I sense these stunts will mostly build the allure of the show and solidify the current mystique amongst fans, rather than gaining many new fans as a result of the appearances (although there will be those who discover that they love the show now that they’ve found it).
I love the show and nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw The Observer on the screen…but more importantly, who’s the FINE Asian guy next to him?!
That asian guy is SOOOO sexy!!!! He should be on Fringe with the Observer, I’d watch him everyday. Anyways, the Yankeeeess sucked that day, how do you give up 14 runs in one inning…(Mets fans are salivating everywhere)
How do we find out who that Asian guy is?! He has really nice features, although you only get to see half of his face! Haha – maybe he has a weird right side! But I’d like to find out!
You can watch it here:

Baseball parks are a great place to observe “The Pattern”, for instance, this one at Fenway:

I think we can safetly add the MLB to the conspiracy though — they obviously don’t want us to know that the Observers are here
Let’s get things back on track here. Does that Asian guy have a website? Or a newsletter to which I may subscribe?
Is the asian guy from Lost or the new star trek movie? he has to be an actor or a model or something
I don’t know, he pops up once in a while on TV – I think. He is very handsome though!! Can someone find out his name????
“Haha – maybe he has a weird right side!” – Tina
that is hilarious, Tina….like some type of two-faced experiment.
I kinda think the Asian guy is kinda quirky looking. reminds me of an asian Jason Alexander.
I don’t know what the fuss is about that asian guy. I am a HUGE fan of Fringe though, can’t get enough of that show. FOX is doing something right for a change.
I think he kinda looks like the badguy from Karate Kid 2. Is that racist?
So… I wonder what part of the pattern caused the Yankees’ pitchers to forget how to pitch…
