If you’re a regular FB reader you’ll know that we have a few things planned to pass the time during this long hiatus. Our next event is a character knock-out tournament we’re calling the “Fringe Alterverse Battle” (or F.A.B. for all you acronym lovers out there 
). Here’s how this thing works:
We’ve selected 32 of the most prominent characters from the first season of Fringe and randomly added them to a tournament bracket. The first round of match-ups will see a seeded character face-off against an unseeded character. You can view a screenshot of the bracket we’re using below:

Every day from Friday June 19th TWO of these matches will commence – you can vote for who you want to win each match-up via polls which we will post on here on FB according to the schedule illustrated in the bracket screenshot above. So for example, the first TWO matches will take place on Friday and will feature Peter Bishop vs Samantha Loeb and Jacob Fischer vs The Observer. The following day there will be another two match-ups posted, and so on. At the end of each day the characters with the least amount of votes will be knocked out of the contest and left to perish in the void that is the gap between worlds. The winners (those with most votes in their respective matches) will proceed to the next stage with the opportunity to be crowned FAB Champ!
For added interactivity, you are welcome to predict the outcome of this event by guessing every match outcome all the way to the ultimate winner. You can do that by visiting the bracket site (it’s free, although you have to register with them to make predictions). If you want to make your prediction you have until the first match starts to do it (Friday AM)! In case you’re interested here’s my prediction!
You can follow the progression of the tournament and view possible match-ups here (you don’t have to register to view the bracket). Of course, you will be able to see the individual matches and poll results right here on FB – the brackets just make it easier to track each character’s path.

Anyone is free to join in by voting, commenting, predicting..it’s all in good fun! Please let me know if you notice any mistakes with the tournament bracket – I created it before I had any coffee 
*We’ll be inviting our brothers and sisters over at Fringe-Forum to take part in this contest, so if you feel like making a prediction on the outcome feel free to put either “FF” or “FB in brackets by your name if you sign up to the prediction league – this way we can add up the totals at the end and see which site’s members/readers averaged the most points! (totally optional, of course). The person/s who predict the correct outcome (from start to finish) in the brackets will win a S1 Fringe DVD.
*Ignore the times in the brackets, they’re just placeholders – each matchup should be posted by 9am EST or thereabouts. Any updates before Friday will be added to this post.
