Things to do til April 7th

I have been trying to keep myself busy (especially with the ending of that last episode) until the new episodes of Fringe return. I decided to create a list and see what everyone else is doing during this hiatus. I researched on the Internet and found a bunch of things people are doing. I compiled them in the list below.

1. Re-watch all of the episodes. This keeps you occupied. It can also help you remember why you fell in love with Fringe to begin with. It gives you a refresher course because you can connect all of the people in the show together, spot the Observer (in case you missed him in the beginning) and search for new things in the background that you didn’t notice before. [Hulu, Fox On Demand]

2. Take Fringe Quizzes. Quizzes are addictive. I find myself blowing a ton of time when I am supposed to be at work, working (hopefully they are not reading this right now). I thought I knew everything about Fringe, but even these quizzes reminded me of things I have forgotten. Not only are they additive but many people post comments and discuss afterwards. Here are some Fringe quiz sites to get you started! [funtrivia, fanpop]

3. Figure out who the Observer really is, what is his connection to everyone else, and how does he know about the pattern. Is he a good guy because he helped Peter and Walter, or is he a bad guy?

“Not Holding My Breath” for White House Invite

by FringeBloggerMonica on February 26, 2009 · 1 comment

Lance ReddickLance Reddick sat down with USMagazine.com to discuss his guest appearance on Lost (airs Wednesday on ABC), his current role on FOX drama Fringe and his years playing Lieutenant Daniels on the critically acclaimed The Wire, which ended its run in 2008.
Us: President Barack Obama has said his favorite show is The Wire. Have you gotten an invite to the White House?
LR: No, I didn’t. I’m not going to hold my breath.

Us: Are you an Obama supporter?
LR: Oh, yeah. I would love to meet him.

See which other celebs are huge Obama fans!

Us: You worked with J.J. Abrams on Fringe and The Wire. So did you have to audition for Fringe?
LR: I auditioned three times, which is similar to my experience with The Wire.

Us: Do you know how long you’ll be on Lost?
LR: It’s a recurring role; it’s literally episode-to-episode. So you never know how much you’re going to be on. Unlike Oz, when you read that you die, you’re dead…on Lost, that doesn’t matter. You could keep coming back, in flashbacks.

Fringe “The Ability” After-Thoughts

by FringeBloggerMonica on February 13, 2009 · 6 comments

FringeAlright here are my issues after the episode…

1. What does that drug that was given to Olivia really do and are their side-effects?

This also means we know that when she was kidnapped, that she was being told the truth — or at least something truthful… they said they took her to help her. I wonder why they needed to do that and how they knew that she needed the spinal tap for the drug. I wondering if they have a connection to Massive Dynamic seeing as they were the only other ones to have know of the 2 locations these experimental drugs were given out.

‘Fringe’ recap: The case of the porcupine-ape man

by FringeBloggerMonica on February 5, 2009 · 0 comments

The Transformation

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — “Fringe” went back to its beginning (which was borrowed from its sister show “Lost”) with another plane crash last night.

This time, however, the deaths aboard the flight weren’t caused by a mysterious virus. Instead, they were caused by a mysterious virus that mutated the carrier into a raging porcupine-ape man, who then killed everyone on board.

Are you following me so far?

Tuesday Ratings: American Idol, Fringe Boosted By CBS Repeats

by FringeBloggerMonica on February 4, 2009 · 0 comments

Fringe performs well with 13 million viewersNo surprise that Fox swept Tuesday night while notching nice upticks for American Idol and Fringe against only repeat competition from CBS. Those CBS repeats performed impressively, as usual, good enough for second place in viewers and third place in adults 18-49. NBC finished a solid second in the age demos. ABC Tuesday’s woes continued. As badly as it did last week, it sunk even further this week, into a tangle with Univision for 4th and 5th places.

“The Rules” of Lost and Fringe

by Roco on January 26, 2009 · 2 comments

The Rules of Lost and Fringe

My two favourite shows came back from their respective hiatuses last week, both great examples of why Bad Robot are so good at what they do. Now, unlike Kirk Acevedo and many others, I don’t necessarily think that the two shows share the same verse. However, I was intrigued by the ominous mention of “The Rules” in last weeks respective episodes.

The rules on “Lost” are well documented to the avid viewer – they state that the past cannot be changed no matter what; Time-travel has laws which cannot be broken, because despite the fact that destiny is a “fickle b*tch”, she’s always got her eye on the ball. Oh, except when Charles Widmore changed those rules last season, when his merc, Martin Christopher Keamy, executed Ben’s beloved daughter, Alex. Brutal.

‘Fringe’ recap: The attack of the Sea-Monkeys

by FringeBloggerMonica on January 24, 2009 · 0 comments

Olivia Dunham means business

Remember Sea-Monkeys from when you were a kid?

You know, those little brine shrimp thingies that appeared to magically come to life when you added water?

Now imagine them growing in your stomach. Only they have spikes on their backs and they grow to be a foot long. After killing you from the inside, they exit through your mouth.

That was the premise of the latest episode of “Fringe.”

Fringe: Olivia Scoop!

by FringeBloggerMonica on January 22, 2009 · 0 comments

Fringe Spoilers

Tuesday night’s episode of Fringe was a major reset for the series (cocreator Roberto Orci tells me), and it sets the stage for some major revelations in the latter half of the season.

Among other things, Orci hints that there are some seriously shocking revelations in store about Olivia Dunham’s (Anna Torv) past and her connections to the Bishop family…[Ed's note: Mild spoilers ahead]

Get Fringe’d In 5 Minutes!

by Roco on January 15, 2009 · 0 comments

Fox have put together a rather neat 5 minute recap of the first 10 episodes – especially good if you’re late to the party or need reminding who “the awesome science guy” is. Click on Peter to play the video:

Fringe Recap in 5 Minutes

That was great, but nothing can top the brilliantly sarcastic LOST season 1-3 recap from which this is obviously based:
