The first clip and we already have our first easteregg -- I wonder if anyone can spot it.

Well, there’s the yellow “47″ evidence marker on the pavement at the 42 second mark of the clip.

You got it. I’m tempted to say that’s our “Alias” hat-tipping quota done for the season, but knowing Bad Robot, I doubt it.

Why ’47′ is so special? What is it mean?

47 is a number which appeared in many episodes of “Alias” (Room 47, Page 47, Server 47, etc…) The number itself has no special significance, as far as I know, but if you ask any “Alias” fan what number is associated with “Alias”, they will waste no time in telling you 47.

As someone who never misses an eppie of “Lost”, I can’t say that I am aware of Bad Robot leaning on the number 47 in that show.

“Fringe”, however, is another matter. “Fringe”, as many will remember, has already had a Page 47 of its own. The number 47 was prominantly displayed on Nick Lane’s bulletin board in “Bad Dreams” and in this S2 premiere video clip, it is no accident that an entire frame is dedicated to the number 47. I don’t believe it has any significance at all (so far anyway) other than a shout-out to “Alias” fans.

Anyone who has seen “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” will also be familiar with Page 47, as its contents are the subject of much speculation among NT fans.

Also, in the Pilot episode, the flight out of Hamburg carried 147 passengers. Later in the pilot, Broyles details, to Olivia, a pattern event involving the disappearance and subsequent reappearance of 47 kids.

Who’s the attractive FBI agent? Isn’t she the new addition to the cast?

Who was the bald guy driving Peter and Walter to the scene?

Also, I mentioned in my spreadsheet http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1058252/MyFringeTracker.xls musing on why there was that near crash when Olivia was on her way to meet with Nina… looks like I was right to suspect that it would somehow tie in to season 2!

Anyone else notice the extreme LACK OF WALTER in the shot of the vehicle after he gets back out of the car? Could it be that he stepped out into the other verse?

Interesting, very interesting.

I doubt it though – Peter’s experession seems to imply that he’s giving Walter one of those looks..

Further evidence that Walter crossed over to the other verse is the car you see turned sideways behind him as he steps backward a step or 2 away from the shot. Its conspicuously missing from the shot of the crashed car just a second after from Peter’s perspective.

It looks like he might be out of frame, but you make an interesting point.

I’m not sure I would buy the idea that Walter just happened to enter an alt.reality though – unless he someone tapped into Olivia’s residue energy, or something. o_O

Also in the 42nd second of the clip is the number 47, not just 4 and 7 separately…

I enjoy the “science” of Fringe, but when they get the obvious little details wrong–their fact-checking–it pisses me off. I live in Massachusetts and Grafton is not a stop on the commuter rail. It is not on the ocean. It is completely landlocked, and I haven’t checked the map lately, but I believe that it doesn’t even have a LAKE!

Peter’s father could have easily taken the subway to the commuter rail to the ocean to Scituate, Hingham, Plymouth or other towns that ARE on the commuter rail line and ARE on the ocean. All the writers had to do was google mta and they would get the map. If you want to use MA as a location–in this world–get this-world facts right. That’s the easy stuff. I will suspend disbelief for you if I can trust what you are saying in the here and now.
