Fringe Round-upIn this Fringe round-up we take early look at Thursday’s mouth-watering episode, find out what “Observer Week” is all about, watch interviews with Lance Reddick, Anna Torv and Jasika Nicole, and much more.

Here’s a sneak peek at one of the most anticipated episodes of Fringe - August:

Arriving this Thursday. Not to be missed, by the looks of things.

Fringe recovered from its series low 1.7 demo rating for “Earthling” with 2.2 (and 6 million viewers) for last week’s “Of Human Action” -- bringing the show close to its season average. [source: tvbythenumbers].

Anyone thinking that FOX aren’t committed to Fringe might want to think again. The network have launched “Observer Week” to promote the hell out of this Thursday episode and the show in general:

Fox is plotting a major marketing push for “Fringe” this week, unleashing a viral promotional spree for the show via both on- and off-air efforts.

Net execs believe a baseball preemption also took a bite out of the show’s performance.

“Thursdays at 9 p.m. are fiercely competitive,” said Fox marketing topper Joe Earley. “‘Fringe’ isn’t just up against well-performing shows, it’s up against shows with preexisting, fiercely loyal audiences. We can tell by the DVR numbers that people like ‘Fringe,’ it’s just their DVR choice.”

As a result, Earley said the network has zeroed in on “Fringe” to find ways to make the show feel like more of a major event.

“Observer Week,” as the campaign is dubbed internally, includes placing multiple actors playing “observers” in the crowd at live Fox telecasts — Sunday’s NFL game, as well as an episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Speaking of Observer Week -- two Observers were spotted at last night’s Packerv Dallas football game:

Lance Reddick is so awesome. Even though he plays similar characters, they all have different layers that make them great (just finished The Wire, Daniels is the man). It would be cool to see him do a comedy someday.

Can’t wait for this episode, been excited since I heard about an Observer episode.

And Darkknight, I agree 100%. Lance Reddick is great, one of my favorite actors.

Do you think Peter will finally find out where he’s from?

My gut feeling is he’ll find out at the season finale.

Can we get a “Duh” from the idiots at Fox? They’re only now realizing that Thursday is an evil timeslot and “maybe” pre-empting a show for weeks on end for damn sports isn’t a good idea? Of course they didn’t figure this out last year with the endless American Idiot delays either.

Worst part is, at the end of the day the suits at Fox keep their jobs while shows like Fringe pay the price.

Um, they don’t call him Joe “Earley” for nothing.

That’s a good start, maybe they should consider reworking the format of the show so that it flows better and tells the main storyline better after they are done promoting.
