I have two candidates in mind as the person on the Bishop family tree who is tied to the case. Robert Bishop or Peter’s mother. Robert is a possible candidate because it would be interesting to see if he was as gifted as his son or grandson. In this case it would imply that the Bishop family is special since they have produced three geniuses in three generations. Now Peter’s mom met Walter at a convention of some sort so she also has to be pretty smart. She probably had some science/ engineering career were a formula is used. Also, I can see the writers using her as a way of having Walter and Peter express their unresolved issues over Mrs. Bishop, especially her treatment at the hands of Walter? We know he found her close-minded.
