GIRL WITH UNEXPECTED TIES TO A MISSING SOLDIER REQUIRES SOME FRINGE INTERVENTION ON A SPECIAL UNEARTHED EPISODE FROM SEASON ONE OF “FRINGE” AIRING FOR FIRST TIME MONDAY, JANUARY 11, ON FOX (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) CC-HDTV 720p-Dolby Digital 5.1).
After a teenage girl is pronounced brain dead, her mother takes her off life support, but when doctors operate quickly to remove her organs, the deceased girl shockingly awakens screaming an alphanumeric code. Equally as perplexing as her resurrection is that she is now somehow able to speak Russian and possesses classified information only a high-ranking soldier would know. While the girl’s mind-bending condition intensifies, Walter dusts off some old lab videos and hypothesizes the unthinkable, sending Olivia and Peter to investigate the bewildering case in an original “Unearthed” episode of FRINGE and here’s another mystery: is it an unaired episode from Season One or is it from an alternate universe? airing Monday, Jan. 11 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (FRINGE-121) (TV-14 L, V)
Cast: Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham; Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop; John Noble as Walter Bishop; Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles; Kirk Acevedo as Charlie Francis; Blair Brown as Nina Sharp; Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth.
[FOX]
For more on this special unaired episode see our “Unearthed” posts. As we thought, the episode is listed as episode 1.21 and not 2.11 as quoted by some parties. It never made much sense to me how an unaired episode from season 1 could suddenly be given a 2.x episode number mid-way through the second season when storylines have advanced. At least it’s been cleared up now. Also, you gotta love FOX for running with the “is it an unaired episode from season 1, or is it from an alternate universe?” line. I think it’s safe to say that it’s the former, but now that they’ve put it out there, I guess it could work both ways if we make-believe hard enough. We’ll see.
You can find the promotional photos for Unearthed here.
1.21 “Unearthed” airs MONDAY Jan. 11th, 9-10 ET/PT, on FOX.

I would love it to be from an alternate universe, but if Peter’s in it, it’s kinda impossible for it to be.
At least Charlie’s back

Fox and JJ Abrams are both douche bags.
They could have someone puke on the TV and call it a show.
As long as there is no mythology Fox would buy it.

I hope this airs in the UK.
And even though it probably wont be, it would be interesting if its in the other universe.
Also if this episode is apparently from Season1, is it on the Blu-Ray?? Im waiting for it to arrive in the post.

TomC, it is not on Blu – Ray. It is an unaired episode from season 1, that they filmed last thing before they left NYC. Hence, them airing it next Monday, to fill a hole they have in their schedule, behind House, before 24 starts airing the following week.

It would be cool if this episode answered some of the questions we are all still wondering about. That would be pretty cool.

I saw the observer walk behind Olivia outside of the church during the conversation with the mother.

Okay, is anyone amazed that Charlie is back? I mean, he get killed (burned actually) by a body snatcher earlier in season 2 (which the body snatcher was later shoot in the head by Olivia). Does anyone know how Charlie can be alive and kicking like nothing ever happened? Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the character, I think he has an important roll in the series but I don’t believe it was explained how his still alive.
