Our ‘Power Hungry’ easteregg and clues round-up is coming up soon, but we thought we’d throw out this one for those of you who missed him. He’s appeared in each of the five episodes - doing what he does best, preempting and observing pattern-cases. They hit us early with this one, just before Meegar entered the elevator, our spicy-hot friend exited. JJ and company will have to be more sneaky than this if they want to get anything past observant Fringe fans.

However, rather than this just being an easteregg for easteregg sake, it’s worth considering this: We can pretty much deduce that The Observer knows when every pattern-related case is going to happen. He stalks the scene hours, minutes or perhaps only moments before they occur, he then leaves. But what if he didn’t observe - would the pattern-related case still occur? Is there not a belief which states that without observation, there is no reality? Perhaps our bald friend is not so much outside of the system looking in, but very much a part of the system looking outwards?

What then of our heroic trio - The Bishop’s and the wonderful Olivia? Once The Observer vacates, they arrive and effectively take over observation duties - what then happens to the previous reality manifested by our observer? If observation creates, then a change of observer must surely create something different, no?

Will Fringe go that deep? I hope so.
