The in-show Fringe site belonging to the shadowy Massive Dynamics Corporation has gone live, with a gleaming-rotating logo and the slogan – “Updating Our Website. Updating Your Life”. This reminds me very much of the Hanso Foundationfrom JJ’s other show.
Thanks to James for sending us the MD flash logo
UPDATE: MassiveDynamic.com appears to be down at the moment. Perhaps they’re running more updates? Stay tuned!
LATEST: The site is back up. No content other than the spinning logo and jingle yet.
This sheep ad was first reported by member saxon on Fringe-Forum.com, and now it seems that FOX are wanting us to REALLY pay attention to it. No doubt there are some ARG/viral/”pattern” clues in there somewhere.
If you notice anything do let us know.
UPDATE: We’ve watched the video a few more times since making this post, and it appears that the main deal is as follows: ‘satellite imagine picked up a rare formation of sheep on the Iowa border..the co-ordination and quantity of sheep creating the pattern leaves very little explanation..reports indicate 10 more sheep patterns were spotted throughout the area’. Bare in mind that this is CASE 91 - will we get to see all of them? The audio only seems to play properly if you click the screen at the right moment – we kinda got lucky.
Also, there’s another ‘case’ on the site – “case_0009 Evidence_0002 1200P 250708″, which contains a bunch of numbers. Image below:
UPDATE 2: You can also watch the video (unscrambled) below – thanks to Tommy @ SerieFringe.com for the video!
Fox have launched an official Wiki for Fringe, which will allow fans of the series to add, edit and contribute content related to Fringe. If you’re familiar with Wikipedia or Lostpedia you’ll know how useful such resources can be. Here’s hoping the Fringe Wiki encourages the collaborative ‘Fringing’ that this series deserves!
Y’know that red maniac thing that whistles across the screen at the end of each episode of “LOST” (and soon “Fringe”)? Well the adorable(?) little maniac is now available as part of a 500 limited edition release.
”JJ Abrams had these limited edition figurines made in a batch of 500. They’re giving away 3 of them at Comic-con this week, where they’ll be showing off a pilot of their new show, Fringe. What’s cool is that they prototyped these figures in house on the same 3D printer they designed the Cloverfield monster and the new Star Trek movie’s phasers on.”
3 of these bad-boys up for grabs at Comic-Con!? If you’re a lover of all-things ‘Bad Robot’ then that alone is reason to go!
“Paramount Pictures just alerted us that a Bad Robot Collectibles Raffle is going on at the Paramount booth at the San Diego Comic-Con. Only 500 were made, and they are raffling 3 away. J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot”
Which means it’s not the prize for the Scavenger Hunt. Which is good, because as much as a love that red devil, I want the scavenger hunt to yield a more valuable return (i.e. a full blown ARG and perhaps a part in the show for the winner?).
Apparently you can pick up Fringe hotel keys at participating Comic-Con hotels – /slash has more:
Just checked in to my hotel and San Diego and was handed a hotel key with the Watchmen logo on it. Turns out, this is just one of eight comic con branded hotel keys which are available at participating Comic Con hotels. The keys include Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Chuck, Wonder Woman, Fringe
That means nothing without photographic evidence..so here it is:
OK, so it’s only a rumour that’s been sent into FringeBloggers, we highly doubt there’s an actual part in the show up for grabs! But the scavenger hunt part is true! According to the LA Times, fans will be invited to embark on a scavenger hunt to find..the pattern? Who knows, the important thing is that the Fringe ARG is kicking off big style at this Saturday’s San Diego Comic-Con!
The LA Times have been given the very first clue, in the form of two not-so cryptic leaf images telling people exactly where to be when the Fringe hits the fan:
