During last weeks TCA press tour executive session Q&A , Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly made some very positive sounds over the future of “Fringe” and the possibility of a second season (fingers crossed!):

On “Fringe,” which Reilly seemed to heavily hint will be coming back next fall and is about to get an “American Idol” lead-in. “It’s a keeper … they’ve really found the storytelling model now … what you’re going to see in the second half in the year, if you follow the serialized story you’re going to find [satisfying content each week and yet] the stories really do re-set themselves each week … I would not expect it to take off after ‘Idol’ but I do think it will tick up another level.”

If you compare and contrast these words to what another Fox exec, Peter Liguori had to say about ”Dollhouse” (soon to air on Fox), it’s clear that Fox are very optimistic about the future of “Fringe”.
