FringeBlogger Monica Arrives At NYC Comic Con!

Well, I am exhausted. Day 1 is over. Lets go over some highlights:

1. Being press allowed me to not only have a press room where I could keep my jacket, but it allowed me to use the VIP entrance… thus no waiting in line to get into the show.

2. Walking into Comic Con

All I could say is WOAH. It’s very overwhelming when you first walk in. All you can see are booths. There are people everywhere. Everyone is looking for something different. I created a plan and decided to walk from one end of the building… up and down every row until I got to the other side.

Some crazy things I noticed on the first day:

1. YES people do dress up. I saw a lot of interesting costumes.

2. The Pina Coladas in the food court in the back of the show is the bed.

3. Everyone wants to hand out a bunch of free stuff to the press. (Hence maybe we could get a giveaway. I will work on that).

4. People fighting with swords.

5. The biggest thing is the variety of tables.

I think when people picture Comic Con they just think comics and a bunch of star war fans. However, there were artists, movie studios, television stands, booths with clothes, booths with vintage posters and much more. There was a booth allowing people to get inside and with some glasses becoming into a 3-D world.

There was also a photo booth setup to promote the Discovery Channel. I took my photo… it’s me and a monkey printed to the left of my photo.

I got to meet Jerry “The King,” I got a photo and an autograph. He seems really nice. In case you don’t know who he is, he is a wrestler and then commentator for WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

**Nothing new about Fringe. I keep asking. Also, while walking around I kept looking to see if any of the stars were there, but none yet. I will keep you updated again tomorrow. **

I also have a ton of photos and videos. I can’t upload them until I am back in my apartment (some time Monday)… but I will put them up.

Well, thats pretty much my update on NYC Comic Con Day 1. I am off to sleep because I have to wake up early tomorrow. Hopefully with some Fringe news. I think they are setting up the Canadian Booth tomorrow. (This is where the Fringe cast will be signing and such…) — so maybe there might be some early appearances by them. I’ll keep you inform.

*****ALSO**** Keep posting your questions. I will keep checking the comments right up the the moment before I see the cast.

Cool! Can you ask them if they’ve watched any other Bad Robot stuff?
Any pranks or funny stuff on set?

Thanks!
