More FRINGE Promo Images + Possible Clues?

FOX have followed up on their Anna Torv-centric posters, with the release of even more promo images featuring the entire main cast of Fringe – Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown, Kirk Acevedo, Jasika Nicole and Mark Valley all feature. The images are encoded with various clues (or “patterns”), notice how all of the male characters have the 6-fingered hand in their backdrop, whilst the women each have the geometric leaf in theirs – Joshua Jackson is the odd one out, as he has the spooky apple embryo core. Is there possible meaning to this – is there something about Peter’s origin that we will discover at some point down the line? It’s also been pointed out that Joshua Jackson’s first solo image also differs from the other images, as his board features a drawing from the Tempest arcade game: (click below to enlarge)

As mentioned above, perhaps the most intriguing aspect from these images concerns the sketch of The Tempest arcade game on Josh Jackson’s (Peter Bishop) board. So, this being a JJ. Abrams show, what parallels, if any, can we draw from this? Here’s what Wikipedia has on The Tempest arcade game:

Tempest is an arcade game by Atari Inc., originally designed and programmed by David Theurer. Released in October, 1981[1], it was fairly popular and had several ports and sequels. The game is also notable for being the first video game with a selectable level of difficulty (determined by the initial starting level). The game is a tube shooter, a type of shoot ‘em up where the environment is fixed, but is viewed from a three-dimensional perspective. The object of Tempest is to survive as long as possible and score as many points as possible by clearing levels of enemies.

Not much to glean from that, apart from the date of release, perhaps? 1981 is the year, I guess we should keep an eye out for this date once we discover more about Peter’s past. Of course, maybe JJ. Abrams or someone from the FOX marketing department is just fond of The Tempest game? Or perhaps it’s not the ‘game’ we should be taking from this, maybe it’s the other Tempest – the William Shakespeare play?

Oh JJ, are you really going to do this to us again? As if LOST wasn’t enough!

OK. Bring it!

*Also, it’s perhaps worth noticing the placement of the actors in the cast photo – Blair Brown’s Nina Sharp is in the centre. I think we should keep an eye out for her.
