could have had two polls so we could do twice as much voting and there could have been a winner for both parts. that way its not so much pressure lol

This should be too polls, Anna killed it as Olivia in Liberty but John Noble stole the show in Enemy of Fate so I really don’t know who to vote for!

  3. Ben says

John Noble, without doubt. Lance would be second, then Anna Torv.

P.s. Well, it didn’t take long (after the end of show) to confirm rumor by some random technician guy about AT/JJ not talking to each other and don’t get along. I know, it isn’t place to talk about it, but somehow that information just proved that PO somehow was polluted by this internal confrontation, which was very evidently in some PO scenes. It’s shame.

This is crazy patty using the name ben, because she seems to think becoming a male voice will carry more weight when she spews her crazy unfounded theories on the relationships between the cast members, that never happened.

idk if Ben is crazy Patty otherwise she would have voted for Peter and not have even included Olivia in her vote.

I saw on tumblr some graphic guy that worked on Fringe was answering fan questions and people asked if there was a rift and he said that there was and that Josh Jackson thought that Anna Torv was a shit actress and he also went on to say that he was a pre madonna but the rest of the cast was lovely.

But ah well now we all kind of suspected there was a rift so i am not surprised at all that its true.

It will not change my opinion regarding the show at all.

Oh god I shouldn’t be reading this. It’s souring my view of the show.

If they really did dislike each other, then it didn’t show onscreen.

All I saw was warmth and adoration.

Then why let it effect the way you feel about the show. It was not like the show suffered because of them. They obviously had professional curtesy towards each other and put the show first so for that I am very thankful.

In 5-10 years time when your watching the show for the 1000000000000000000 time you won’t even care nor remember that they had a rift.

Speaking as someone who had visited the set of Fringe about… 10? 15? times, you always had Anna Torv who kept away from the public eye more and only out when she needed to be, and then you had Joshua Jackson who liked to be out and about and joking around the set. One introvert, one extrovert. It almost seemed to me that Josh was fine with the attention and more then willing to draw the attention in order to give Anna her space, but that’s just my gut feeling, no evidence to support that.
I didn’t go out of my way to meet Anna because I didn’t want to bug her, but met Josh a few times because he seemed very open to it. Some of my friends have though, she’s very kind, and more at ease with less people around. Nearly the whole set was incredibly friendly and easygoing, Joel Wyman included when he was up there. Most easygoing set in Vancouver from what I heard from a local photographer. Oh – and Joshua Jackson loves his girlfriend to bits. That too. Could all be just so that they don’t encourage any stupid rumors.

I have to say that I have some suspicions about this just looking at the pictures from the 100th episode party. There are none picture with JJ and AT side by side, which is really strange, since they are THE couple of the show. And in some others occasions they seem apart.

But it didn’t really afect anything in the screen, they are professionals after all.

Then they go on sites claiming they are Technicians for Fringe (when that is not true) and that they have inside knowledge. (not saying you are doing this, just showing how interpreting a photo can go from a mere afterthought [like you are having] to a full on nasty rumor).

I would like to say that I don’t care about this, really, but deep down we all want to see they getting along, even behind the cameras, we care a lot about this cast.

She will act like some idiotic Peter lover one minute, then she will change her id and come on as some Anna fan, and argue with herself to get drama going. I wouldn’t even be surprised if she is the so-called “Technician on Fringe” herself. She is a crazy person. What she does is not logical. This is Patty. She also went onto Jasika Nicole’s tumblr page and got in her face. This got a response out of Jasika, saying she was blocking her, and gonna tell Josh, and Anna about her, so they could be on the lookout. This is a dangerously unstable individual. I have the link but I’m not sharing…that technician guy closed his account anyway, so it doesn’t matter if it’s true or false. The fact that they finished the series without any scandals on them is admiring, given what the media (movies-stars-tv) tends to do sometimes in order to get attention to their top stars.

Now I don’t even remember how I got to that place…perhaps from twitter.

Of course there must be rumors of any kind in the workplace, but it would be kind of stupid to spread them around if you want to continue working in the same line of work right?… just saying, if that was a real technician, how dumb is he? :p

But what is the point Ben of bringing it up now? What does it accomplish? Who cares if they did not like each other, it just shows what good actors they are. And as far as standing next to each other in pictures, that would have caused a rumor that they were having an off screen affair. No matter what they do or did it is a no win situation apparently.

Oh and now is a great time for people to start saying Anna is a terrible actor when all the time the show was people were all “Olivia rocks? Go Olivia!” and all that!

This was not a Shakespearean stage play, it was Fringe and I think they all did a great job of acting on this show!

I hope it is not true that they did not like each other, but I am not going to let it ruin my enjoyment of watching this show over and over again.

Since this is the last “Fringie Of the Week” and I’m done talking about rumors (shouldn’t even started) I would like to let here my thoughts about this amazing cast.

    John Noble
He’s truly a legend, a remarkable actor. You can feel his heart and soul in his work, it’s in his words, in his eyes. You can recognize Walter even in his tiny gestures, and see right away when it’s Walternate standing in front of you. Evebody in the cast talks about him with so much care, which makes him even more admirable. You can honest say how much he cares about his work, fans and castmates. His dedication about Walter and Fringe seems really sincere and honest.

    Anna Torv
Our beloved Dunhamnator. Anna is a first class actress, like John, very into her work, very focused on her Olivias needs and fears, very good with her technique (like in scenes with Altlivia). Like all castmembers in Fringe, she loves her characters (with some special enthusiasm about Altlivia) and can talk about them for hours. Her expressions and timing in act are the best in the show, she can really transmit her emotions to the audience and fulfill her role as the main piece of Fringe. I would like to see her in a new challenger role like this again.

    Joshua Jackson
Our Wonderboy. I wached Josh in Dawson’s Creek, and I wasn’t really a big fan of his work. What I see now in Fringe is a much more matured actor in a diferent level of acting. His acting is more about heart than soul, and his is very passionate about the show. He is the kind of guy who likes to make sense of things, to understand what is really going on in the story to transmit that to his Peter and to the audience. I think sometimes he works better under pressure (or with a very good director guidance), like in his arc being observer Peter. He really tries hard. Have the best smile ever.

    Jasika Nicole
Adorable, like Astrid. Jasika is very competent and talented. With so little time on the screen, she was able to captivate all the fans. Delivered emotion on the right amount (like in the end of season 4, in the hospital scene) and made us laugh everytime she was arguing with Walter.

    Lance Reddick
A true gentleman. I was watching season 1 and remembered how much Broyles was a pain in the ass. And only Lance could go from be a annoying character to a awesome partner. Like Noble he is very good with his gestures and voice tone. His attitude as actor is very admirable, like you can see in the Fringe bloopers videos, his very humble and very down to earth.

    Blair Brown
I feel some much empathy from Blair, and I don’t really know why. Like Broyles, Nina had this love/hate relationship with the fans, and Blair was always able to let us wondering about her poker face. Really, really competent, and very loving acting, specially in this last season.

I also adore and admire the very great work of all this other castmembers we had along the way:

Michael Cerveris (perfect and adorable September)
    Kirk Acevedo (the lovely Charlie)
Seth Gabel (Lincoln, even from this side)
    Michael Kopsa (the scary Windmark)
Ryan Mcdonald (Brandon and his news to Nina)
Leonard Nimoy (not a fan of Bell, but Leonard make it worth)
Jared Harris (David Robert Jones – best vilain ever)
Georgina Haig (the perfect choice for Herietta)
Orla Brady (makes Elizabeth Bishop a truly real mother)
David Call (the cute and freak Nick Lane)
Andre Royo (Henry, the nice taxi guy)
Jenni Blong (the Carla Warren cool ghost)
Roman Longworth (the best Child Observer you could ever have)
Rebecca Mader (for her freaking death as Jessica Holt)
Peter Woodward (just for being the unsung hero August)
Mark Valley (for make me wondering about John Scott until these days)
Lily Pilblad (for being a very cute Ella)
Eugene Lipinski (also very good observer as December)

Voting for Olivia, of course :)

But seriously.Rewatching the last few eps of S5 and its obvious how ridiculously overwritten Walter and Peter’s relationship is at the end.
So overwritten to the point where I just disliked Walter at times. Not in the finale but around ep 9, its not fun watching Walter.
They turned him into a whining victim who suddenly gets her memories back just in time for him to sacrifice himself. Emotional moments were deluded because that happens when you show the same thing over and over.

    • James says

The only reason Walter got his memories back was because fans kept complaining to Wyman about it.

I’m very definitely happy that he got his memories back, but you can’t deny it was contrived fan-service.

Walter was ruined for the entirety of Season Four and bits of Season Five for me. Turned into a petulant child for Season Four and kept saying that same things over and over in Season Five:

I’m becoming the man I once was,
You have to take out these pieces of my brain

We all know Noble is a fantastic actor, which is why it’s infuriating to see Walter all of the time complaining about his mental illness. It’s draining on the viewers.

Couldn’t agree more, James. It’s shocking to me how much Wyman pandered to “fans”. Very disheartening, it’s like he never had a plan or thoughts of his own. And the plans he did have… never seemed to work too well, but if he would have to stuck to his guns once and while, at least it would have felt less forced and/or contrived, nothing annoys me more than an obvious change of plans just to appease a certain subset or forced goal. Just stick to your guns, man!

I’ts a shame, this is our last chance to do this, and I think a lot of people are voting for Walter because of a sacrifice that wasn’t even a sacrifice. Beyond that, Olivia had a chance, point wise, to maybe win. Walter doesn’t does he? I know people are being prodded towards voting for Walter, but Olivia is the one who deserves our support, she is the one who got thrown aside by the writers, but still managed to hold our hearts. This is the final one, your last chance, Walter didn’t/doesn’t have a chance to win, but Olivia would have, wouldn’t she? I think she deserved this.

Yes, that’s my point! People vote for Peter for no reason! Or at least they have in the past. But this time around, Olivia had a chance to beat him in the final score, but because people are voting for Walter because of a misplaced sense of… well, I don’t know, nostalgia… sentimentalism, maybe?… Walter will win, and Walter doesn’t have enough points to beat Peter. And besides all that, for what the writers did to Olivia, and Walter for that matter, while leaving the hero, Peter, in tact, Walter or Olivia deserves to beat him, and Walter didn’t have chance, but Olivia did.

        Well-loved. Like: Thumb up 13

          • williamreturns says

What is there to disagree with? Walter doesn’t have enough points to beat Peter, Olivia does. Unless I’m misunderstanding how the points work. Which, for me wouldn’t be hard, I’ve always been confused by the rating system. But it seems to me, Peter has 23, Olivia 18, and Walter 9. Walter winning will give him more points, but not enough to beat Peter for the whole shebang, but if Olivia would have won this one, then she could have beat Peter. That’s really all I’m stating, so not sure what is there to disagree with, but you’re welcome to. ;) um, mate.

We could have all joined together to cancel out some of the unfair “Peter” voting. I have voted for Walter, Nina, September, Olivia, Peter (many times), Astrid, etc., but there are people who vote for Peter regardless, and that is why he has such a high score.

Although she kicked ass in the finale, Walter gets my vote for the ironic twist of fate that awaits him due to his own conduct.

And that’s your right, it’s cool. You do realize, though, that it’s not really just Fringie of the week, if that were the case, there wouldn’t be a running total, of which, Peter is going to win. And I think most people feel that it’s Walter who deserves to win the whole thing (for this season, anyways). But due to crazy Anna and Josh fangirls/boys, Peter and Olivia have the top spot, because there are people who vote for them no matter what. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be Walter; it’s the bigger picture here, the greater good that I’m gunning for, not arguing anything against you or Walter. If fact, I don’t think I ever was arguing, it’s just math. ;)

I voted for Olivia because the scene of her killing Windmark was the best scene of the season.

That calm fury you see on her face as she clutches Etta’s bullet necklace.

                  Amazing.

haha, not accusing you James. I voted for Olivia, too! You don’t have to justify your vote to me! ;)

No one should have to justify there vote, even the fangirls/boys. But just like they have that right to vote for Peter every. single. time. we also had the right to gang up and vote for Olivia for the win, being that it has never been fair.

Sorry, I just am so frustrated with those writers for doing this to Olivia! I have to fight for her! But, like you said earlier about Walter, they screwed him up too, but at least he came back at the end, and even got the “sacrifice” to boot. Olivia disappeared somewhere during season 4, and never came back… :(

im glad to see altlivia comming in first after the episodes main players. she was/anna was brilliant as altliv in the first half. really great performance. very impressive/cool. its strange, but i think since the show got complicated/olivia as we knew her kinda got sidelined from the season 2 finale until the season 4 penultimate episode where things focused again and we left the other side behind, i think anna actually did a better job of altlivia than olivia and that brief glimpse was a reminder of that and of how brilliant of an actress she is. altliv has/anna gives her so much charisma like olivia had in the first two seasons, but for opposite reasons.
