The first poster for the fifth and final season of Fringe has hit the web. See what you make of it below.

The poster warns of the impending Observer invasion — glimpsed in “Letters of Transit” — which will serve as the focus for the final chapter:

The poster will be no doubt be in circulation at Comic-Con this July. The Fringe panel will be hosted for the first (and last) time in massive Hall H on Saturday, July 15.

Alright i thought it was but wasn’t sure because (correct me if im wrong) but in letters of transit didn’t walter say he was good and wasnt part of the observer invasion
So he wouldn’t be a part of the ‘they’ that is coming
Yeah but i think your right and it is him

That is def not September…in fact I am quite confused by this because he doesn’t look like an Observer at all other than the fact that he has a hat, suit, and briefcase. I mean he has eyebrows for goodness sake!!!

this is the way to end a show, a final season dedicated to the mythology

Yes, but not a complete rewriting and debasement of the mythology. The Observers were just that, Observers – not a kind of gestapo. Of course, they came up against the fact that the mere act of observing changes what is being observed, but this was an unintended consequence, not an intended one. In fact dealing with unintended consequences has been one of the themes of the show, and also part of the mythology. The show has always placed the responsiblity for things firmly on the shoulders of its human actors, not on divine beings or evil aliens. This cheapens the entire endeavour.

But the Observers aren’t evil aliens, they’re humans from the future. I think the ultimate message of the show may be one about preserving our own humanity and the planet we live on, which in today’s world is very pertinent IMO!

it was always the goal of the observers to take over our world because they destroyed theirs in the future…they were just observing and waiting for the right time…
and those who turned against this plan were eliminated. (like september)

and one of the awesome things about this is, that Colonel Gordon from 203 “fracture” was actually right!

In my opinion i think that the observers that we have seen up to now are against invasion, they are just scientists observing. However the future where they come from i think their research about time travel and what it is like in ‘the past’ has been leaked out and now all the military and government are carrying out the invasion against our scientist observers wishes.
Kinda like in avatar where all the scientist people are really against destroying the trees and stuff but they are getting overpowered by the company who just wants the rocks innthe ground :)

Let’s not make assumptions about all the Observers. September is definitely not being presented as evil, at least not at this point. It’s not even certain that the other scientist observers like December are being vilified. They were here for one purpose. Windmark and his kind are here for another. Now how you divide them up and get from one to the other, that’s where the story comes from.

I am not too crazy about this whole evil Observer storyline. I don’t see September and/or Peter in that poster.

What is going on with that glove of the closest Observer? If 007 James Bond can have a shoe escape kit, umbrella sword, rotary saw watch, shaving canister flamethrower, and a glove gun, I guess an Observer can have a glove gun too. It looks weird to me. This 2036 premise seems weird to me, it is so alien to what we have enjoyed for four years. I guess the writers and everyone involved know what they are doing, I sure hope so.

I think the Observers were originally benevolent as September seems to be, and from WAY farther ahead than 2609, but in their Observing they unwittingly changed their future to the point of never existing, so they had to get out of that future, which is why They came to 2609 to live thus destroying it with their presence. They then came back to 2015 (which I assume is the point of divergence for them, to purge any and everyone who is likely to make an impact on their existence. Fast Forward to 2036 and they have a strong hold on the Earth’s population so as to prevent any further meddling with their timeline. I know very paradoxical, but it’s a theory.

I see a lot of yellow here…Coming from a yellowverse soon near you?

I also think it is possible the Observers have something to do with Bell & Bishop.

We will soon find out soon enough. I wish we had more in the beginning of season 4 to explain more of the foreshadowing instead of waiting 4 eps to get Peter back and then to find out no one knows him. What role will Peter play now that he lived to be a man. Do the bad observers see him and Olivia as a threat?
