Oh my gosh! If I was excited for Season 5 before, I definitely am now. This is going to be brilliant, I can already tell.

Love it. Just going through my Fringe-re-watch. At season 2, just watched “Fracture.” Oh man…that episode. The X-Files guy’s speech at the end where he fingers the OBSERVERS as the real enemy…and now, they really are.

Noticed two things from the screencaps over at Seriable:
- is that September in amber? I just can’t tell…
- also, the choice of the red blanket can by no means be accidental – I hope we get some explanation of red/blue verses and where they stand in relation to each other in 2036

Oh I think that in the amber is Olivia, and is Peter’s hand.

Etta’s hand (feminine hand plus no wedding band either) Also I am 99.9% sure that is Liv in Amber, but I can see how people would think it is September.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Defiantly looks like Olive. Maybe in 2036 Peter and Olivia would not want to wear weeding bands to hide who they are. Maybe marrigage is prohibited in this future.
But I am sure Etta would be the one symbolically touching her mom who is trapped in amber. She misses her terribly and this moment is touching.
I agree the hand does look like it could be feminine.
I also hope the Walter scene was in the past but I don’t know. It would make sense if Walter was integrated and found out how severe the invasion situation was. This would propel him to amber themselves since the Fringe team was marked. On the other hand he might of been captured in 2036. Season 5 here we come.

It looks like olivia in the amber and Henrietta is the one who touches the amber.

So I’m getting to that tough spot where the promos make me excited and sad. It reminds me of Lost, only I feel like Fringe has been better at segmenting the seasons I don’t look at the end of last season as an epic cliffhanger so much (like fading to white was) but the end of a chapter. This next season just feels like they set it up to be a more complete final season than just the final run of a TV series. Does that make sense? I think they have paced the show out very thoughtfully and don’t worry about too much getting jammed into the final season.
Plus a show like lost had 20 people to wrap-up our show has less than 10 series regulars-in all. So I don’t worry we’re going to miss out. But they seem to have picked out a good enough story to keep fans interested and not just sobbing.

I’m glad I’m not the only one unable to determine if the person trapped in amber is Olivia or September. My first reaction was that it was Olivia, but as I looked at it again, it seemed much more like September. I can’t tell.
I hope it’s not Olivia. I just feel that’s all too similar to the same scenario we had with Walter and Peter and Astrid being trapped in amber and Etta and Simon working to find them and rescue them. It seems anticlimactic and a bit redundant for them to leave us wondering where Olivia is, only to reveal she’s been trapped in amber, too, just in a different location. I don’t want the premiere to be Letters of Transit 2.0 where it’s basically the same scenario, but they’re just rescuing Olivia from amber this time. I would prefer a different explanation for where she’s been.
Of course that’s just my opinion from a limited perspective. It’s entirely possible they have come up with a story that is completely different that still involves her in amber. So we’ll wait and see… Not too much longer, thankfully!

My only concern with this season is that I feel like they’re only going to address the Observer questions and leave everything else unanswered and neglected. There were a lot of things answered in this show, especially season 4, but there are so many other nagging questions like the machine (we still don’t have a 100% full answer to everything with that machine). I feel like the show gives you 90% of the information for an answer but you have to piece it together yourself (like Man X) without any character ever really saying something about that answer.
Fringe is a lot more about showing then telling when it comes to its answers, so I expect the Observers to be fully answered and hopefully other nagging questions answered (who was that Rogue observer in season 1?).
Also one big thing I wish they had more of this season was characters talking about their pasts. I want Peter to acknowledge that he’s had to rebuild these relationships and I want Walter to say Peter has made his life better and I want Peter to explain to the other characters the differences in timelines, and I just want one character to mention the alternate universe this season and maybe just ask if the observers have invaded them as well.
I really do love this show but I feel like these things must be completed for a proper, satisfactory send off!

I actually don’t need to know more about the machine, for me, this story is finished.
but I really really want to know more about the observer kid from season 1!

Well there is a HUGE plot whole in season 4 of how the machine turned on, I was actually so disappointed in the writers when this wasn’t answered. Peter’s a smart guy, they easily could have had a dialogue with him asking Walter how it was turned on, and bam that’s answered.

well, it has been hinted more than once that, since the machine didn’t have a biomechanical interface, it was just “switched on”.
I know that this is not really a good answer and I agree that peter should’ve asked walter how it created the bridge.

I hope I am not insulting anyone, sorry if I am, but IMO that is not a young woman’s hand touching the amber. Could it be Nina?
That is horrible what they are doing to Walter, I can’t stand it, that part of the clip is very upsetting.

I’m just getting more and more super excited about season 5(and like everyone else kinda sad)

)
Personally I will wait and see how many unanswered question will remain,by this point I trust those writers enough to think that most questions will actually be answered (most importantly Gene’s backstory
Also,is that a hatch? If yes i really hope it leads to the place where they were ambered and they’re about rescue Simon
