STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — “Fringe” went back to its beginning (which was borrowed from its sister show “Lost”) with another plane crash last night.
This time, however, the deaths aboard the flight weren’t caused by a mysterious virus. Instead, they were caused by a mysterious virus that mutated the carrier into a raging porcupine-ape man, who then killed everyone on board.
Are you following me so far?
Because things only got more confusing from there.
Turns out, the carrier aboard that flight, Marshall Bowman, was working with John Scott before his death and another man, Daniel Hicks. How does Olivia know this? Because her brain is still linked to John’s.
Olivia brings in Hicks for questioning, but he isn’t talking — until he realizes that he’s starting to mutate too and Olivia is the only one who can help him. He spits out the name “Conrad” before being sedated by Walter and the gang.
Eventually, the team learns that a big weapons deal is going down in Chicago. Surprise, surprise: Conrad is the dealer, and the weapons are the biological kind, aka that nasty virus.
Olivia and Peter intercept the buyer and decide to pose as him to obtain the virus.
All goes according to plan until the dealer announces that Conrad would like to meet them. Conrad walks in, immediately knows that Olivia and Peter are fakes and orders them to be executed. Luckily, the FBI kicks in the door at the last second, saving the day and busting our baddies.
