Welcome to Fringe Links, the sometimes regular round-up of Fringe stories, news and frexy links that didn’t quite make the front page of FringeBloggers.

Some FringeBlogger friends are attempting to get Fringe to trend on Twitter for Thursday’s finale. They’re calling it The Fringe Movement and have created some cool posters to promote the cause:

If you’re a Twittererer and this sounds like your cup of coffee, you can find more information here. Thanks Bastian for the heads-up.

And that’s about it. I’m off to meet William Bell at the park because “I trust him”. Peace!

Well, the one clip explains why Bell can occupy a spot in the alternate universe without repercussions – he has no alternate version of himself.
Is it Thursday yet?!

Hmm, it’s working for me. Can you only see the link, and not the video player? You might have to wait a few seconds for it to fully load.

Ahaha, can you really trust him, Roco? XD
Can’t wait for the finale, after Joshua’s speech I’m going to hope it’s the best hour ever!
Also, at the end of the Reckoning clip, you can hear Olivia saying something backwards. I think its “I think it has something to do…” and I can’t figure out the rest. I was using my DS, it’s microphone isn’t that great. :c

“Ahaha, can you really trust him, Roco?”
I’m not sure I can, but “have you got any better ideas?”
I feel all Dunham all of a sudden.

Do what you must, Roco, but just remember that Bell tends to run a little late — we wouldn’t want you to get into trouble and miss the finale!
Speaking of the finale, with all this talk about the episode being the best episode ever and 10 times better than the last season finale, I’m getting really excited — this is going to be amazing!
Oh, and I also want to say that I always love the behind the scenes pictures. Sometimes they’re enlightening (like the map of the United States) while other times they’re just plain strange — like what’s with the random skeleton? It made me think of Bones…
Finally, I’m showing my ignorance here, but I really have a very limited understanding of Twitter… can anyone explain what it means for something to “trend on twitter”?

mlj,
I’m not totally familiar with Twitter myself since I don’t use it but if you look at the main Twitter page you’ll notice a scrolling bar with “trending topics” and a list of what’s popular/being talked about alot on Twitter at the present moment. So to have Fringe trending on Twitter would mean that it’d be one of the most popular topics at the moment and thus help raise awareness of it among the Twitter/internet community in general.
So the “#Fringe” is a hashtag you add to the end of your tweet which will make it grouped with other Fringe tweets, thereby making them all more easily searchable by the common topic. And I know this thanks to a Time article on how people showed support for the protests during the Iranian election, and which explained it like this:
“So what exactly makes Twitter the medium of the moment? It’s free, highly mobile, very personal and very quick. It’s also built to spread, and fast. Twitterers like to append notes called hashtags — #theylooklikethis — to their tweets, so that they can be grouped and searched for by topic; especially interesting or urgent tweets tend to get picked up and retransmitted by other Twitterers, a practice known as retweeting, or just RT. And Twitter is promiscuous by nature: tweets go out over two networks, the Internet and SMS, the network that cell phones use for text messages, and they can be received and read on practically anything with a screen and a network connection.”

But yeah, probably more explanation than needed but you mentioning that made me curious again about Twitter.

Paulina — Thanks so much for taking the time to investigate and explain. That definitely helps things make more sense. For the most part, I think I’ve done pretty good at figuring out what people mean when they talk about various things related to Twitter, but things like “trending on Twitter” and other things you covered in your comment have still been mysteries to me, so thank you!
So how do we know if they actually succeed in getting Fringe to “trend on Twitter”? Do you just check on the home page?

What can I say, mlj. You were right. I’ve been waiting in this darn park for 14 hours and he hasn’t shown up yet. Talk about un-bellievable!
That was bad, I apologize.

I love Josh Jackson. “Just this episode, and then never TV ever again.”
(I can see the hand glyph a little bit, Isaac, but I can’t decide if I think it’s intentional.)

That was too funny, Josh is awesome. I think it’s pretty much true as far as many of us are concerned. Fringe season ends: what to do? Watch the whole thing again! I really enjoy seeing him and John together, they have a very nice dynamic going.

I fear a dreaded summer-long cliffhanger!
