Oh my, Wyman seems to be a bit overcome with emotion.
He makes it feel like the end is very near.
Well, here’s to FRINGE FRIDAY !!!!

Thank yoú, Joel Wyman, for giving us such a wonderful universe (or two) to love and wonder. Olivia, Peter, Walter, Astro, and all other characters, the gueststars and main storyline was unique.

May the reruns last forever and may the dvd-sales be enough for a future movie, or a spin-off series.

Thank you, cast & crew!!

Thank us for what? Letting him ruin the series?

Fringe has been completely in shambles since the fourth season. And this fifth season? It’s practically a clone of Falling Skies. NOTHING like Fringe at all. Invaders? What happened to “fringe cases” or mad scientist terrorists of parallel universes?

So, Wyman. I’ll tell you this: Thank YOU. Thank you for completely demolishing this show’s chances to actually stand tall next to stuff like Lost or BSG.

I agree. people always said Fringe was a show that had a hard time finding itself, but I think at the end of first season and throughout second and third, it found itself. then when “peter stopped existing”, it completely got los in the woods. this whole observer plot just screams desperate and that they are totally out of ideas. they had no idea what to do with the observer characters.

my least favorite thing that seasons 4 and 5 did was that they COMPLETELY, anticlimactically threw away important characters, not by bang, but by whimper. William Bell, Sam Weiss, walternate and his crew, charlie francis. all of them were put on a bus without a word. “oh, we’re done with them.” Ok, no. when you build them up throughout whole seasons, you dont just set them aside and hope they go away. thats just crappy writing.

and whats with that Mr. X thing? BIGGEST COPOUT EVER. “Oh, that was really William Bell” A whole season of no-show……only for him to confirm it on TWITTER. can you say “I have no idea what Im doing” any other way? And then, of course, William Bell too has now been set aside.

and now with the fifth season, both lance reddick and blair brown have been set aside as “special guest stars.” im sorry, Wyman. but you were a really, really bad showrunner. :<

I agree with you, although I am trying to enjoy the show as much as I can. Seriously, the whole Season 5 relies on different parts of a “plan”. Well, without one piece, the whole thing doesn’t work. So…

WHY NOT PUT EVERYTHING IN THE POCKET UNIVERSE?!?!?! Why split everything up? You can’t do the plan with any one piece missing, so let’s split it all up and hope that 20 years later everything is still where we left it. Oh, and let’s make Walter act weird and stupid for some reason or another ALL THE TIME for different reasons.

But the worst bit of show running was the END of Season 4 (which is saying a lot). They obviously signed Leonard Nimoy during the season, so they did rewrites to make him the ultimate bad guy. So, they take David Robert Jones’ character and have him attack Peter Bishop (who is taking out a VERY high tech space/sun laser) with a FRIGGIN’ CROWBAR!!!! They are literally destroying buildings with a space laser and crossing over to universes AND Jones is bulletproof, but he decides to take out THE WHOLE REASON FOR A WAR BETWEEN UNIVERSES WITH A CROW BAR!!!!! Oh, and they shot Olivia because they had a dumb “Olivia has to die” subplot that NOBODY THOUGHT HAD ANY CONSEQUENCES TO IT!!! That was a total waste of screen time. I would have rather had another Sprint/Nissan commercial. Seriously, I would have. Every time there was a “Olivia is going to die according to the Observer” scene, they should have made more money from Sprint or Nissan. Then, when Walter does (you know what) it would have been VERY shocking. Plus, they could have introduced cortexiphan’s newest superpower earlier in the season than THE LAST 2 EPISODES!!!! It would then be more believable. It’s as if they wrote the Season Finale during a writer’s strike! Or, when I was in creative writing in school and procrastinated and just wrote a bunch of thoughts for the end of a big story because I just had to hand it in. No one thought she would REALLY die!

But, I love the characters and MOST of the mythology of the show. It entertains me. But, they had such potential for “Best of All-Time”. They will have to settle for one of MY favorites. If the ending is spectacular, I will be left in love with Fringe. I just have this nagging feeling that I will be dissappointed. God, please let me be wrong.

All that being said, I would watch every episode for another 10 years. I just love this show so much that I am very critical of it. I feel like, as a fan who has created AT LEAST 30 fans of the show who didn’t exist before, I feel like I am allowed to complain and critique (seriously, at least 70 of the DVD seasons were purchased by either me for various birthday or holiday presents or because I allowed someone to borrow Season 1 and they got hooked and bought all the rest).

I thank Joel and everyone involved with the show. Fringe will most likely ALWAYS be my “Stuck on a deserted island” shows. I would probably take the 5 seasons of Fringe over everything else. There are so many details to entertain me with. But, I think A LOT of people (even Joel himself, according to what he said a couple weeks ago) would like to change some things about last season (and this one, in my opinion).

Cut him some slack. :P The man was too busy trying to make his hair look as humanly stupid as possible. He can’t balance both; his hair and trying to run the show competently.

thank you Joel for all your passion, love and creativity.
Fringe has been an amazing ride for me and it still is.

personally I loved it, that the show has evolved and changed so much over the course of the seasons…I think a show has to to this to stay relevant, interesting and not become boring and predictable.

I was very happy with wymans style of writing…I think that’s because I am a very romantic person myself :)

thank you john, josh, anna, jasika, lance, blair, michael, leonard, seth, kirk and every other actor and crew-member.

I also want to thank Roco for this and the altverse site and all you guys here.

now, before I get to emotional, I have to remind myself that there are still 5 more episodes to go!

happy Fringe Friday everyone!

I want to thank joel and jeff and JJ and all of the actors for one of my favorite shows of all time. This show pulled my wife and daughter together for the past five seasons (which is awesome because my wife hates television) and this show will always be special. Anna, Josh, John, Jasika, Lance, Blair and the rest of the great cast and crew whom I could not list right now are amazing and they deserve great respect and admiration for their work throughout these years. They will be missed. :( ….. :)

irrespective of what August 8 and Jones says. I like to thank you Joel and your team for at least thinking outside the square, and giving us fans a different slant on what are usually mundane sci fie shows ( you know same thing over and over again) sure some seasons were different from others.
But the goal of the show was to put our characters in unusual situations and see how they respond both emotionally and mentally, and in my mind you certainly achieved that.
The Cast, well what can I say, for a show to go as long as it has, with the ratings constantly on the edge, have to have two ingrediants for it to survive against all the odds , a loyal fan base (no matter how small) and a cast that puts in top performances week after week just to keep those fans.
That Fringe has lasted 5 and a half years against insurmountable odds is a credit to you all and I feel honoured that I have had the pleasure of watching those performances
For me, Forget the Mayan Prophecy, the really sad day is when Fringe finally winds up in January, it won’t be the end of the world but it will be mightily close
Thank you all once again from a true fringy fan. God bless you and keep you strong.
