didnt know where else to put this:
I read on wikipedia (infallible source of all great and true knowledge I know…) that the fifth season would only have 5 writers and they did not include Akiva Goldsman, Orci, (or JJ Abrams, or obviously Pinkner). I wonder why not. I mean, theyre my fav writers on the show and they wrote some of the best mythology episodes so why leave now? I hope they didnt bail because of where its going (Im probably being paranoid). It kinda freaked me out that none of them are going to write the last season since they wrote all of the mythology episodes. This kinda news is makingme very anxious to seethe new season. I have faith it’ll be good, but I cant help wondering why all these integral people have left the show yaknow?

I don’t believe wikipedia about this. Well, I don’t want to believe it.

That information was taken straight from Wyman’s twitter comments, and it’s pretty unlikely that he was lying.

besides wyman, there are only three more writers for the 5th season.
alison schapker, david fury and graham roland.
wyman said on twitter that he likes it because it is more focused.

@matt
I think it’s mainly a financial reason that there are only 4 writers left…

I don’t understand why Reddick says we don’t know his rank.
He is a general!

The military aspect does come through pretty strong with Broyles. The way he taunts Olivia and keeps her at arm’s length in the pilot, especially. Then when she’s proven herself there’s no bigger Olivia fan than him. There’s something very Marine-like about the process.

Well yeah, at the beggining he doesn’t like the “liaison” because she prosecuted his friend. But I think it’s that friend that proves Broyles was in military: when Olivia was prosecuting Sanford Harris, she served as US Marine Corps special investigator, so maybe he was in the military, and if he was, probably Broyles was too.

I think Fringe would really have benefited from including backstory for its characters, I for one would really enjoy seeing broyles’s past. Peter’s has and always has had (IMO) the best potential for amazing backstory, but unfortunately that was never used apart from some vague references.
