Fringe Countdown: Fringe, Fibonacci + The Pattern

The Fringe alternate reality game (ARG) and viral campaign has put many of us on the trail of Fibonacci Numbers, Fibonacci Spirals, and the Golden Ratio, to name a few. It’s had a lot of people asking how these real-life scientific ratios and numbers could possibly tie-in to the TV show “Fringe”.

One way of possibily explaning it is to analyse what the trailers and ad spots have been focusing on: nature, science and patterns – 3 aspects that we think will be underlying concepts in the show:

These 3 aspects (nature, science and patterns) are explained in the follow video on Fibonacci numbers:

So, with that in mind, we infer that the ‘Fringe pattern’ is either the Fibonacci Numbers (or Golden Ratio) or a fictional take on those ratios. The underlying concept perhaps being that all things in existence have a ‘DNA-like’ pattern, one that can be ‘hacked’ into an manipulated.

*Our Fringe countdown continues tomorrow. If you’re also counting down the days til “Fringe”, feel free to grab our Fringe countdown widget located in our sidebar to the right, and add it to your own website.
