Ahh what a tease!
btw, if anyone follows maskscheduler on twitter he spoiled a bit on twitter yesterday. Some were pretty pissed.
But he did say this ep is “excellent”

that is not cool. he probably thought people wanted to know as much as they could but in reality all this spoilerness ruins the party. i dont even come on this site as much while the shows airing cause i dont wanna even accidentally see a pic or episode title. half the fun is with the wait, maybe more with this show, and after waiting 5 years i doubt there is anyone whod rather here it from him than see it happen when it’s time…

“all this spoilerness ruins the party.”
I totally agree

He shouldn’t have spoiled what he did. I think he got a lot of angry tweets over it too.
I wish I didn’t know the spoilers I know because it does spoil eps for me at times. You have different expectations and if they arent met you end up disappointed.

I am VERY happy about the info, but it would have been a HELL of a jaw dropper. DON’T LOOK IF YOU WANT TO BE EXCITED FOR ONLY 3 MORE FRINGE FRIDAYS! HAVE MORE WILL POWER THAN ME!
Please let the Mayan calendar be wrong! Only 4 more episodes, then the world can end.

It was nothing I didn’t already know through set photos.

I hope you are able to stay pure. LOL!
I am a spoiler hound myself, and it doesn’t take away from my experience at all. In fact it helps to alleviate any anxiety that I might have on the course of this last season.

well, I think spoilers can take away a lot of great OMG moments..
last year I looked at much more spoilers and now I sometimes think how great it would’ve been if I didn’t already know some things…when september suddenly appeared in the lab in 414 or when the beacon arrived in 415…If I wouldn’t have been spoiled i would have screamed!
instead I just thought: yep, I know that already…

I still prefer knowing some things, as long as I don’t know the context of the things. Seeing a particular character in set photo for example opens up several very cool possibilities, but also calms me down from assuming the worst about certain aspects of the show that I feel are relevant. So seeing those types of photos make me less of a cynic when I get on these comments since I have the smallest bit of inside knowledge. I can sit back and do my best to try to ease the anxiety of my fellow Fringies, without actually spoiling them. I really hate feeling like the show is screwing up, so a part of me wants to look and see.
Like i said, this season i am much less of a cynic than i was last season. I ascribe that to looking at certain spoilers. I do however draw the line at reading spoiler summaries that put all the pieces together into context.
Part of the fun I have from seeing set photos is that when the episode finally airs I get to say; Oh so that is what they shooting that day. I find it really fun.

fair enough
personally I don’t need some things to happen in order to be satisfied with this last season.
for example, a lot of people desperatly want to see the altverse again, while others don’t but I would be fine either way as long as the execution is good and makes sense, I also don’t want to know if someone dies at the end or not..I could go on…I just don’t want to know stuff like that, I want to experience it while it happens.

so, if you know anything about that, DON’T tell me!

I try to avoid death spoilers if at all possible, but sometimes other blogs hint at things like that, and I figure them out because I have maybe seen a lack of a certain character in recent set photos, like what happened with Etta for example.

yeah, the death of etta is a very good example…I was SHOCKED when she died and the next day I found out that a lot of people kinda knew it already…

and because of that, I am sure that this scene had a much bigger effect on me and that I liked this episode more than some other people

I loved that episode, even knowing it was going to happen (well I didn’t know for sure, but I was pretty sure). I actually gave that episode a 10/10.
It just boils down to what each person’s expectation is. Some of us love spoilers in varying degrees, some of us don’t, but I will admit I was a little sore about the Etta death spoiler, but it was totally my fault, so i can’t blame anyone but myself. That said I avoid certain blogs now because of their propensity to cryptically or not so cryptically spoil deaths. Lesson learned. Had I just stuck to the set photos I would have been none the wiser. I would have just wondered where the heck Etta was.

ok, yes, it differs from person to person.
I just know that I enjoy episodes much more when I don’t know anything about them

I’ve spoiled myself so many times this season! Every week I’m like I’m gonna stay away from all spoiler stuff but it never happens. It’s still exciting watching the episode anyways!!
Even though I know what’s kind of in store for us ill still scream with delight

Just so I understand this correctly:
The final two episodes will be airing back to back on the same night, correct? So, like, two hours of Fringe at once? I don’t think we’ve ever had that before, have we?

The pilot was two hours, si it is fitting.

Which is what is happening right now to me, with my sister. I bought all the Season DVD’s up to Season 3 (they were on sale for $9.99 at Walmart, awesome!). She got hooked about 2 weeks ago and just went out and bought Season 4 (I didn’t want to spend the $40, I will wait until it goes down). So, I am waiting (im)patiently for her to get to 4.19, because then I can actually talk to her about Season 5 a little bit. But, the surprise of what 4.19 is is so out of left field that I DO NOT want to ruin it for her.
On a side note, she texted me on Saturday night at about 1:00am. She had just finished the Season finale of Season 3 and had this to say, “You a$$hole, you gave me all the dvd’s up until Peter disappearing! $%^& YOU!” LOL. I told her to try waiting 4 months for it like all the rest of us! I have a suspicion that A LOT of people will get hooked on the show, once it is over FOR GOOD, after getting to experience it in sequential order with the DVD’s. Too late for a Season 6, but good for them to get to experience an EXCELLENT Sci-Fi series. IMO, the best of all time. Well, depending on how the next 4 hours go it could be.

I had a buddy who’s wife got hooked by checking out the dvds from the library. Like your sister, she had watched up until the end of 3 as well. I was talking to him on the phone the other day, and she was in the background screaming for him to ask me to borrow season 4 because she couldn’t wait two weeks to check it out from the library. I had to laugh, while I told him that he could come get it if he wanted to. Needless to say it was barely 15 minutes later when he showed up. LOL!

Of course, now she called me last night asking “Why doesn’t Olivia recognize Lincoln? She knew Alt-Lincoln ‘Over There’?” Well I told her, um…well, since Peter wasn’t around she didn’t use her powers to go over there to save him. Because of that, I think they just kidnapped her and replaced her with Bolivia. They didn’t know about her special ability (I know she had no idea, because when Peter mentions it in Season 4 she has no idea she can cross over whenever she wants) so Walternate didn’t inject her with Bolivia’s memories because he didn’t need to have her subject to testing to find out how she can cross so easily. They then never reverse engineered cortexiphan from her blood, etc. Of course, I am not sure that is even correct. It could also be that THIS version of Olivia is VERY closed off since Peter never brought out the best in her. So, maybe she viewed Alt-Lincoln as an enemy and her FBI closed off attitude coupled with years of being abused by those she was meant to trust (her stepdad, Walter and Bellie, John Scott, etc.) means she NEVER lets anyone know more than is absolutely neccessary. Anyone have a different answer? I would love to hear it.
But, there is A LOT about the Season 4 “hook” of Peter not existing that forces you to kind of fill in all of the blanks. It’s great for us Fringe lunatics, but for people who are just casual “observers” (lol) it is a bit too much work to figure all of that out. Some people don’t know why Season 4 is everyone’s least favorite, but that is just one example. Plot holes that require a HUGE jump on the viewers part. I am happy to fill it in, but others aren’t.

Yeah I almost told my buddy to tell his wife to only watch 4×19 then skip the rest of season 4.

I was actually a “late-bloomer” myself, my bro kept telling me about the show but I was dead set on “No, X-Files has and will ever be the best Sci-Fi show ever, nothing can compare”…well, on thursday night I found Marionette on tv and I gave it a shot. Instantly hooked! I haven’t been there from the beginning, I truly wish I had I swear! But from then on…my name is FringePhile and I’m a Fringeaholic.

I don’t doubt it, lol! Seriously, it is hard for shows on the networks to be serialized since airtime is so few and far between. But, something like the Walking Dead can be played over & over & over again on cable (AMC). Not to mention all the interruptions that their sports coverage causes the different programming (I am a die hard Bears fan, but my DVR is worthless on Sundays taping any nighttime Fox programming if any of the football games run late). I was kind of hoping that Fox would move Fringe to FX instead of cancelling it, but thankfully they gave us a finale. Props to Fox on that, they earned my trust.

I am finding that because we are so close to the end of the season and possible series end, I would rather not hear too much about the episodes before I get to watch them. I know enough about the last few episodes that I rather not hear or read any more

I’ve gone the spoiler route and I’ve gone the non spoiler route. I’ve got to say I enjoy not knowing what’s going to happen. I was totally blown away by Etta’s death and was happy I didn’t know before hand. I follow @maskedscheduler but haven’t been on Twitter in a few days. Glad I missed it and glad I got the heads up!! But I already knew to be careful and have been very cautious the last few weeks. Spoiler free for me…especially this season!!!

Yikes, I paid $59.99 plus 6.25% sales tax for season 4 at Newbury Comics.
Anyway I like spoilers, I scour and search for them, I get too nervous when I get vibes that things are not going well. And now with this being the end, I have had to switch to decaf coffee until this is over. I keep saying, it’s only a show, it’s only a show, but what a show! This is very sad that it is ending.
