Blood was spilt he knew he was infected and didn’t care about the consequences anymore but to find a solution.
Luckily for him Olivia Walter save him from destruction so maybe this thematically the same with different circumstances.

Peter is going on a rampage, and I am interested to see the effect on Olivia. Remember in “Os,” Peter showed Olivia all he had done with regard to the BBM, including having the shapeshifter memory disks. The look on Olivia’s face when she realized that Peter was shapeshifter killer was one of a mixture of shock, disbelief, and sort of “who is this guy?” I am eager to see how she deals with what Peter is becoming.

In order, the top 3 things that I hope happens in Fringe’s final Season 5 (it has changed now after episode 5.04) -
1. We get to “cross over” into the red-verse (is that the portal that is opened in the promo above?!?! God I hope so). Not only cross over, I hope that the entire Fringe division with Alt-livia, Lincoln (yes, Lincoln), Walternate, Charlie (!), etc. are ALL brought over here with some ridiculous weapons to kick some Observer ass, which could have been developed (at least, the weapons could have been based off the ideas of)…
2. William Bell. I hope that while Simon is a twitching head being used for experiments, William Bell was somehow procured by none other than…Nina Sharp. I think Nina would be able to do a little something to help Bellie with that missing hand, if not she could just go back to being his “right hand (wo)man” ba-dum-dum. All kidding aside, she could just give her special hand to William, since it would make sense for him to have all of his faculties to help save the world. She is already confined to a wheelchair so she is AT BEST reduced to a Barbara Gordon type of Oracle role. 3 more episodes, Mr. Nimoy? That’s all we ask of you to cap an amazing and illustrious career!
3. Before Windmark teleported out of the imploding (?) warehouse, he grabbed Etta. He finally realized that LOVE is something that will cause human beings to do (what he would consider) stupid things and risk their lives. So, knowing what he knew (and he was close enough, if he even HAS to make contact with someone to teleport them) he grabbed Etta and eventually heals her. Hell, maybe there is even a storyline where she becomes an Observer (the only woman Observer on Earth?) before she “snaps out of it” and saves the day (anyone caught a glimpse of a bald Miss Haig?). Nevermind, that’s too far fetched (even for this show). He would most likely use her for the tried and true purposes of leverage or BAIT. It makes sense, Peter at this point would most likely turn himself in judging by the above promo if it meant that Windmark would realease and not torture Etta any longer. I know that it is unlikely, but people on Fringe don’t seem to stay dead forever. Heck, I could ammend the #1 spot and put that the Fringe team recruits Peter’s and Olivia’s from multiple universes and Peter steals an Etta from the Pink Universe or something. Anyway, I have a feeling that this is a REAL death, even on Fringe standards. But, I hope that it is not. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like Peter, Olivia and Walter and I am sick of seeing them suffer so much. I mean, they have saved all of our fictional asses so much I just don’t like that they never seem to catch a break! Whew, sorry if I was so long winded. Let me know if any of this makes sense because I barely slept last night and am going to fall asleep in 3, 2, 1,………….;o’ghaf8uwe p9mva’suf9-32q

For 1, since we were forced to invest so much time in the alternative universe characters (incl. Lincoln), I’d like to that fringe would not leave us hanging, as that would be a wrong on top od making Peter disapear for no good reason. there, i said it. Besides, I want to know where faulivias baby is!! And, to see our favorite cab driver Henry one more time would be icing on the cake. And Sam Weiss whom Olivia needs right now.
For no. 2, a Nina / Bellie reappearance would be a great way to cap off this series. I still don’t know if both are good or bad, so LETS GET SOME ANSWERS FRINGE. But, I digress.
As for 3, I think that if Widmark spirited Etta out there as leverage before the blast, that would be shocking even by fringe standards, and would set up a “happy family reunion” total cliche ending, which I am not sure will work. But, I agree that this death looks pretty final. Sigh…..

I know Peter is all of that. But the problem is that he doesn’t showcase all those talents very often. So they just seem to randomly pop up every now and then. Peter is just an underdeveloped character to me which is rather unfortunate but I’m afraid you cannot make up for 4 seasons worth of development in the last 13 episodes. As a result yes I may have a hard time seeing him as a credible threat. Plus the baby face…

You criticize josh for having a darn baby face but most of the female heroes nowadays are anorexic looking blonde girls who have like NO muscles at all. I mean hello, BUFFY? she was thin and 5’3 and could beat up 5 men in one shot but nobody criticized her for that. I have yet to see a female hero who has muscles and is not a twig. Uh, sorry, but did you see Anna Torv in her bathing suit in Hawaii? Seriously, she’s 5’8″ and compared to most actresses, a pretty athletic, toned body. Even if you look at Anna compared to Georgina, you can see the difference in bodies. Georgina is much thinner and smaller.
And there have been others as Rick mentioned. And yes, I love the Olivia character and equally love the Peter character. In real life, they both “seem” to be nice, humble people.

Well, I for one never said anyone wasn’t entitled to an opinion, just disagreeing with you. I’m certainly not taking anything personally, since we’re talking about a fictional character. But don’t worry, I’m no JJ fangirl (in fact I’m not even a girl) and I love Olivia too – I love both Olivia and Peter, together and separately.
Peter shows his skills, he’s just not flashy about it, which is one reason I like his character – he’s subtle and understated most of the time and he doesn’t feel the need to beat you over the head with his awesomeness every five minutes lest you forget.
I’m not sure though what you would prefer Peter do instead? I mean, the man just lost his daughter, and if that wouldn’t motivate someone, what would? I agree he’s been kind of overlooked by the writers for varying reasons, but that doesn’t mean his character isn’t interesting, that he hasn’t changed and evolved throughout the show, or he should be dumbed down into merely being Olivia’s love interest who delivers snarky one-liners here and there.
I suppose we could bring back John Scott from another universe/timeline if you wanted some boring, stereotypical square-jawed alpha-badass type of guy, but half the reason I liked Peter was *because* he was “just” a civilian, but still able to handle himself in bad situations.

I like Peter too, believe me. He’s a character that is used to generate most of the story. I’ve always loved the father-son dynamic and I’m hoping we’ll get to see that again soon. On his own though I just don’t find him as compelling as Walter and Olivia. I feel like they have a certain level of depth that he just lacks a bit. That is all.

I like all of the characters, but in all fairness, the main reason Olivia is perceived as a badass is because she was the only one of the three leads who got to carry a gun in the first two seasons. Back then she was the one who blew away the bad guys in almost every episode. If Peter had been carrying a gun since day 1 and got to kill a few bad guys in the earlier seasons I think the perceptions would be a bit different. But the showrunners only intermittently let Peter show his badass side in one-off episodes like “Reciprocity,” and I thought he did a convincing job on those rare occasions where they let him cut loose. Now they seem to be trying to make up for that in Season 5 by having him carry two guns! But I admit it would be nice to see the badass side of Olivia at some point in this final season.

That is true, Starman. Olivia has always been the action hero of the show since day one not Peter. But that’s because she’s the FBI agent so it is only logical, right? It is not some kind of unfairness towards Peter or Walter. Don’t see why a civilian consultant or a mad scientist should have been carrying a gun as often as an agent. Being a guy I honestly find it refreshing to see the heroine save the day more often than the hero!
Now of course they’re all fugitives so that doesn’t matter anymore. Walter still shouldn’t get a gun though. Not at any cost. Especially if Olivia is in the same room

Olivia may be the action hero but that doesn’t mean that Peter isn’t allowed to use his own strength to fight. He is not a girl, he is a man and should act like one. He isn’t a housewife either not is he the type of guy to stay at home while Olivia gets the bad guy. Remember this is the same Peter who refuses to stay in the car. Peter has also been on his own his whole life so it’s not that “unusual” for Peter to man up and help Olivia.

As others of you, I have seen this person’s sentiments on other sites…To whom I pose this question:
Why must we exclusively like Joshua Jackson OR Anna Torv? Face it, they have GREAT onscreen chemistry. They are both excellent actors and, so far as I can tell, good people.

Well, just because you aren’t in the military or police doesn’t mean you somehow can’t be a good shot or handle a firearm. We know Peter never killed anyone until 2.11, because of the conversation he and Olivia had in the episode, but on the other hand he must’ve had some familiarity with guns before then. Why? Well, if you remember in S1 where he beat up Tess’ abusive partner, Peter took the guy’s automatic, and when he was walking away he unloaded the mag, but also pulled the slide back to clear the round in the chamber. Someone without knowledge of or experience with handling guns probably wouldn’t think to clear the chamber.
He doesn’t have Olivia’s (ex Marine, FBI) training or technique in hand-to-hand, but he seems more like a street fighter or brawler. Being 6’2″ probably doesn’t hurt either and I imagine in his nomadic pre-S1 past he most likely got into his share of fights. He is pretty fast, though – if you remember that scene where a guy was pointing a pistol at the back of his head and he spun around ridiculously fast and knocked the gun away, then lunged at his attacker and tackled him.
His best asset though is that in bad situations he’s able to keep his head. A lot of people, especially without training or experience, would panic or do something stupid, but IMHO it’s just something that illustrates one of the big differences between himself and Walter. They both have similar IQ’s, and while Peter lacks Walter’s imagination and creativity, he trades it for practical street smarts and common sense.
He does seem to have gotten to be a very good shot since Entrada. Maybe he’s spent some time at the gun range when he’s not on call, maybe Olivia gave him some shooting lessons, who knows? I do think the dual pistols was silly, though, it’s one of those things you see on TV because it looks cool, yet it isn’t done in real life. I was disappointed by this since Fringe usually is fairly realistic about such things, as far as TV goes.
I don’t think Peter being able to handle himself in a combat situation takes anything away from Olivia though, and it’s not a bad thing since he is her de facto partner in the field anyway.

Next week promo looks like that’s how it will be which is a shame because Fringe was at his best when both Peter and olivia were fighting together and if I remember correctly, we were introduced into the Fringe world through the eyes of Olivia Dunham…
It seems Wyman is a big fan of Peter Bishop and considers that female lead characters should be there only to long for their men and be crying and sobbing as much as possible. What an old fashioned way of seeing thing especially for a sci fi show…and this is so not the Olivia Dunham we get introduced to at the beginning of the show.
I will still follow Fringe until the end but for me, the magic is gone and something big and irreplaceable is missing: P&O fighting equally and together…

P/O will be on different paths for a bit but I don’t think we’re going to see Olivia sitting around grieving her child. Yes, we see bits of it in the preview but its Olivia who wants to get back to work. She’s the one who wants to complete their mission. I think its important we see her grieve now too since when Etta was taken from her the firs time we missed all that.

I also remember that in 4×22, before walter shot olivia, peter’s face was very tense like was going to explode and then the scene in the pilot where walter wanted to check peter’s eyes and his blood pressure, to not forget Bell’s comment in the 2nd season finale (“you’re holding up than i expected”). I wonder if anger is something that will unblock Peter’s abilities. Given that in 5×04 we came back to the past seasons thanks to walter’s hidden treasure in his lab, i hope we will do the same with these with Peter.

As bad as it is that Etta is gone, vaporized with an Anti-Matter Baton, I think it is a fair bet and statement that Fringies are now FULLY emotionally invested in this season. We want to see the evil chrome-domes beaten, badly (and badly beaten). Wyman may have set us up for a major letdown, but now we want to see how it ends more than ever. We want justice for Etta, happiness for Olive, satisfaction for Peter, and peace for Walter.

Wonder if the death (or supposed death) of etta, will have the effect of causing a situation that even the observers wouldn’t have counted on, and that is the reactivation of Oliva’s cortexiphan powers.
Remember they could only be activated if and when she became emotional, and with what has happened what with etta’s death and the current situation getting out of control, now might be as good as time as any to indulge in a little “Don’t get mad, get even” observer get square.

I made the mistake of accidently watching the promo for 505 before watching 504. When I heard the line, “Why would we get her back just to lose her again?”, I got teary.
This seems to be an episode where both Olivia and Peter will be portrayed the opposites of what we normally see. Peter will be the “action” hero while Olivia will be broken (this will be much worse than the apartment scene in Marionette). This seems to be an episode where she will be broken and feeling her way out of it. Personally, I love Peter with a gun, kinda sexy and I think Josh has the look and skills to play the action hero type. Remember, he almost became Captain Kirk in the re-imaged Star Trek. He’s got a pretty wide range of acting skills.
By the end of the episode, they will realize that it will take both at their best to make this happen.
I think we are all in for a serious ride for the last 9 episode. Regardless of what happens, I’m glad we got S5, in any shape or form.
