The title for Fringe 5.03 and the date for the series finale have been revealed. Head below for details.
Per Seriable:
Fringe 5.03 will be called “The Recordist” (thanks to @chrispatt86 for the tip). Another intriguing title with plenty of scope for dual meaning, particularly in a season focusing heavily on the Observer arc.
We also have that most bittersweet of dates — according to showrunner J.H. Wyman, the final episode of Fringe will air 2/1/13.

Feb. 1st? So that means lots of breaks! Or one long break!! I don’t know if I’m happy with that or not! I don’t want it to end but I don’t want it dragged out either, breaking the momentum of the story.

sounds about right. I’m actually not mad at the end date. I just can’t bare to see it end, so a farther away the date the better. Yeah, it have interruptions, but isn’t it better to have new episodes to look forward to than no new episodes? Just sayin’.

I suspect that they originally planned to end the show a week or two sooner in January, but since they fell behind by 2 weeks in the shooting schedule due to John Noble’s illness they felt safer moving the end date to February 1. I for one don’t mind the end being delayed, because once this show is over then it’s over for good. After that we will all have to live with the fact that there will be no new FRINGE episodes, ever! (Unless they do a movie someday).
