Which doesn’t mean we can sit down and relax.
We still have the obligation to FOX to keep pushing and promoting the series to whomever we can, whenever we can.
This is the time to expand the Fringedom, my friends, lots of series cancelled or ended, so a lot of tv-watchers looking for something to watch.
So give them the feeling of a true winner, and invite them to watch Fringe live. Keep it up, Fringedom is great!!

I agree! although we will get a final season we should still support fringe as best as we can!
we owe that to FOX, WB, Cast and Crew!

Good, they went up again. I will be eager to see the +7 number.
OK, just one more wish for FOX: Move Fringe to Tuesday or Thursday night for SEASON FIVE. Think about it. Since they probably have a mid-season replacement for a show that tanks, and they know that sometime mid-season is when Fringe ends its incredible run as one of the BEST TWO OR THREE SCI-FI SHOWS EVER, why not give Fringe a prime slot as a send-off?

I don’t give a flying rat’s ass about the ratings anymore, we’ve got renewed, so no more presure.
But still, it’s nice to see, that people watch Fringe.

The ratings still do matter! If everyone just suddenly stopped watching live because a season 5 is “for sure”, the season 5 would be cancelled because literally no one would be watching live! It’s awesome to know we’re renewed, but that means we have to stay where we are with the show. Higher ratings may also mean a higher budget!

I think you’re right.
And we all need to show our support and appreciation to Fox for keeping the show alive.

This kind of makes you wonder: now that people know the show will get to go out on its own terms, will they watch because they’re no longer afraid of getting hooked on a show that will never get to finish its story?
One of my best friends is a fellow sci-fi nerd – I’ve been begging him to get into the show since Season 1. After Firefly, he said he didn’t want to get into another show only to have it yanked prematurely. Now that the news of Season 5 is out, he’s ready to do a marathon with me this summer to get caught up so he can watch the final season live!

I agree. All the uncertainty probably damaged the ratings by dis encouraging people to watch

Yes I agree with Observer 1, we the fandom cannot afford to relax, if anything we have to support the remaining episodes even more.
That way we can show our appreciations to both Fox and WB that their decision to renew Fringe all be it for a partial 13 episode season wasn’t and won’t be in vain. And also to show our appreciation to both the cast and crew of this brilliant show that we have appreciated their hard working efforts over the last 5 years and will continue to support them throughout the remaining episodes.

I don’t even really get the nielsen system…
I mean I kinda understand how they measure the total viewers but how do they know how many people between 18 and 49 are watching??

maybe it was adjusted down because they somehow found out that a viewer turned 50 on friday!^^

Let’s face it the Nielsen system is so out of touch with today’s reality of how people watch TV and they are a monopoly. Nothing about this system is going to change in the near future. I really don’t mean to insult anyone but some of that useless junk on TV is unbelievable, and the numbers they get. Jeeezzzzz What is wrong with people? Friends ask me, “Did you watch this?” “NO.” “Did you watch that?” “NO.” “What do you watch?” “I watch Fringe.” “Fringe?” Aaaahhhhhhhh
We cannot become complacent regarding Fringe ratings, because if the ratings were to go up substantially the show could be extended beyond the 13 episodes. It sounds like a dream, but what is life without dreams?
