Looks like peter and olivia or the other blonde girl (his daughter?) are about to get shot by a firing squad…

That seems to be the case from the hug but I don’t see how it could be unless she was born this year, making her 24. If not, then I’m really stumped at who Georgina Haig is playing. Perhaps it is a young Olivia clone?

I showed the promo to my brother (he doesn’t watch Fringe, but he’s very perceptive) and he immediately pointed out that we see two embrace in it, only fast one after the other. First Peter is embracing the girl, Etta (her hair is let down, as we’ve seen earlier) and then I think Olivia (her hair is tied up, as she usually wears it). So these glimpses must be from 2 different scenes.
I also think the girl is his daughter – why would he have such an intimate gesture with her?

i wouldn’t agree with her being the daughter becasue 2036 wouldnt make her old enough to be thier daughter…mmmmmm

She could just be a blonde who’s not related to Peter or Olivia in any way. It’s possible.

Reply

nora April 14, 2012 at 11:57 am

Yeah, could be. It’s just a coincidence that’s she looks like Olivia… Peter is just hugging lovingly a total stranger… That her name is Etta – as Henrietta?, which is accidentally the female form of the name Henry… That it’s not 2026, but 2036…
Seriously, I don’t know. She actually could be just a random blond girl… But it’s Fringe… And I always thought that if they’d have a child, it would be a girl – the writers seemed to indicate this. Remember the graffiti in ‘Firefly’ on the wall behind September when he shot Peter – especially the little girl with the red background? I have a theory about that, but it’s a bit complicated. And the drawing on the fridge in ‘The Day We Died’? The little GIRL with the RED hair, who was holding Peter’s hand, but not Olivia’s?
Maybe I’m reading too much to this… I could be totally wrong, it happens often with me, particularly regarding this show.

I also think she could be Nina’s clone to replace Olivia. If not, then maybe she is the daughter of Altivia and Lincoln?, since she’s an FBI agent in the AU.

I wasn’t refering to Nina. The color red in my dictionary means the other universe – that Peter should have grown up there, if September wouldn’t make that mistake. Told you, it’s a bit complicated. Not the theory, the explanation, and my English is not advanced enough…

Maybe this is our Olivia, just that when our team traveled to the future, there was an incedent, and she became a younger version of herself.
Not that unlike 3. 19.
As we’ve heared before, Cortexiphan changes perception, maybe she was thinking of her 20ies when they wen’t to the future.
I know that theory sounds stupid.

Who is Jones reporting to?…I remember in “Ability” when Olivia talks to MITCHELL LOEB before he’s being transferred: “… doesn’t matter if you find Jones or not. He’s just a part of ‘the army’. – – What was written will come to pass – and nothing you do can stop that – -. –nothing–.”

So far we don’t know, I was hopping it was Alt-Nina, but as we saw, she is just a pawn. Maybe Mr. X with military rank?

Looks like Joshua Jackson’s “I don’t share any scenes with either of them” comment was a MASSIVE misdirect. Cause unless my eyesight needs to be checked by Observer worthy scientists he is sharing a scene with Georgina Haig there…Even what looks like two scenes, the second of which is her possibly crying into his shoulder (could be Liv, can’t tell for sure, but I don’t think so). No matter, this episode looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Has anyone else noticed the Brown Betty references? What with the Observers as some sort of enforcers, and in the scene where the Observer is with his gun squad in the parking garage there is a Massive Dynamic logo on the wall, which could insinuate some sort of MD/Observer alliance, as in Brown Betty.

What if at some point after Peter and Olivia had their baby girl, Boston was amberized and they ask to Nina take Etta away from there, while they stay trying to fight against DRJ and his evil agenda and they all are trapped. And then in 2036, they manage to recover the area and get them out of the amber, that’s why Peter, Walter and Olivia are still younger than the others…

Also, I think the blond girl will be a new character, not Ella. I know they can recast people, but she just looks so much different than the Ella from “The Day We Died” that I don’t think it’s her. Then again, this ep takes place later than that ep, so who knows.

Well that could be confusing, lol. Why the similar name?

Like: Thumb up 1

Reply

Fringe Fan April 14, 2012 at 5:35 pm

If she is Peter and Olivia’s child, that would explain why the names Ella and Etta are so similar. All the child names between Rachel and Olivia would be similar then: Ella, Eddie, and Etta. They all start with an “E” and they all have strong double consonants in the middle of the name. Sometimes that’s common among cousins (but probably more so among brothers and sisters). Also, the name is perfect for Peter to honor Henry, the son that he never knew since Etta is probably short for Henrietta, the female version of the name Henry. The creators of the show are careful when it comes to choosing names and the name is just perfect for the above reasons such that I’m almost positive that she’s Peter and Olivia’s daughter.

But, that’s just my theory and I could be totally wrong. It’s definitely possible that she’s just an agent that will help them in the future.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 9

Reply

Ian S. April 14, 2012 at 9:43 pm

I thought the person hugging or death gripping, lol, onto Peter looked like it could be Olivia. That was my first thought on who it was anyway. Not if Jones’ plan succeeds and he manipulates the bridge [4.18], which would occur WAY before 2036.

The bridge was working until last Friday. With DRJ in town, nothing is safe lol
Besides, we already know that he is trying to do something with the machine, just because Broyles failed to him, doesn’t mean that he’s gonna stop

Like: Thumb up 2

Reply

Ian S. April 14, 2012 at 9:42 pm

I think Jones is going to destroy the machine actually, causing the bridge to still be active but soft spots to appear again, a huge one in Boston. But I don’t think this will happen until the finale. And maybe the two scenes filmed at the end is just one of Boston being ambered as the series ender, and the other with Boston ambered and Peter, Walter, and Olivia stuck in the amber for the “doorway” they said would be opened for season 5.

That’s a great idea Fran…maybe will see some of that.

My only comment about them being young is that why would they pick a younger actress to play Olivia, but not Peter?

I think is Peter’s dream-consciousness taking a walk into the future like he did before, only this time is reminiscent to the machine being tampered with, and by extension tampered Peter’s subconscious. Maybe when hugging Olivia in the present-he could be in the future for a moment with Etta? though Etta’s connection with Olivia is a big mystery at this point.

I’m thinking Nina is playing a big part of this Etta character. Maybe she cloned Olivia.

One of them pulls a girl down onto his lap, and when he speaks he seems to have more emotion in his speech then any of the “month” Observers. Everyone on the show has said that this episode leaves the door open for season 5′s story, so here’s my theory. What if, Jones, whatever Jones is planning to do, he tears open a vortex in Boston, and like someone else said on this post, the region has to be ambered off and Walter, Peter and Olivia are stuck in amber. Then, let’s say that Jones succeeds, flashforward to the year 2036, our characters are removed from the amber, and are thrown into a new war against the Observers (who Jones is maybe working for).

Therefore, this episode would sort of be a prequel to season 5, and season 5 might take place entirely in the year 2036. That would be amazing

If you go to EPISODES (on the menu at the top of this page) –> 4.19 LETTERS OF TRANSIT –> PAGE 2, you should be able to find a posting that explains the new character briefly. Her name is mentioned in the posting. :)

Thanks Fringe Fan! I originally skipped that post when it was posted way back to avoid spoilers, hence me being in the dark now ;) If I had seen the name “Etta” I would have figured out that was going to be P &O’s daughter pretty quick! Can’t wait to see the awesomeness of what this episode looks to be!!!

This i episode looks intense!!! I am honestly also waiting for how the fringe intro will look like and what differences will be in it as there were in the red, yellow, blue, and gray intros (which took place in a different version of 2036). :-P Geekgasm indeed!

Interesting…looks like a bit of “V” meets “Dark City” (the floating Observer-like guys), with a touch of X-Files “Fight the Future”. Can’t imagine where this will go but I suspect our Observer mythology is about to explode.

I think an Olivia clone wouldn’t make sense. I belive the cortexiphan powers are unique toour Olivia. If it were possible with any Olivia they would have tried with Fauxlivia. Would Jones be in such awe of what Olivia can do if it could be done by any clone or Fauxlivia?

This is gonna be very interesting. I mean really, when you think about it what need do the Observers have to take over our society? They can exist where ever they want, more or less. They’ve seen all of history and would know that totalitarian societies never work, nor last in the end. Hhmm I’m really wondering how they’re going to explain the Observers switch in motives. Also, where’s December and his group? I’m counting September separate since he’s gone rouge. I hope he’s still on our side. I’m thinking so. I wonder if even though December kicked out September, he and the rest aren’t part of the take over. Unless, December started it. Of course, it also seems like this is goign to be a mind trip episode. So maybe September has taken Walter, etc… into this, I’m going to call it, possible future, to warn our gang of what might come. So they can try and advert it. Hmmmm, it’s going to be interesting! All I have to say, is I really don’t think I like this possible version of the future!!! Stop it Scooby Gang!!!! LOL

it also doesn’t make sense for the observers to take/hold power by force when, as time travelers, they could have sown the seeds for their rise to power peacefully from long in the past.
