This guy make me sick! I don’t like him at all! he has ruined this show for me. I don’t understand why producers waste so much time for developing such boring useless character!
Dont skip the episode Andrew. Im gonna watch it and attempt not to skip through it, but will i have to. Admittedly I barely got through those sneak peeks, so i dont know how im gonna do in the episode. But dont skip an episode! you are a fringie!
You know, Betty, it may sound irrational, but I totally understand them and might skip as well.
And David, I’m sure you’re joking, because I wouldn’t call his pubertal jealousy “developement”.
Look Kate, recently ive taken a certain dislike to the way you constantly refer to the people who are not enamoured with lincoln as “trolls”. It is perfectly valid to have the opinion that lincoln is not a good character. To think that he adds nothing to the show, and also to think the show would be better off without him in it, i know i may post a lot about my distaste for the character, sometimes with an attempt at humour (TGFL) but its not because im wanting to ruin a messageboard.
I infact wish i liked the character so i wouldnt have to cringe through the scenes hes in or skip through them, but that is the case, am i one of the people constantly saying to you that your too negative? no. You yourself have protested against people who have said you are too negative, therefore it is hypocritical for you to call the “lincoln haters” (as we have been branded) “trolls”
Way too much of *our* Lincoln. Living under the spotlight of Alt-Lincoln, he just dims in comparison, like a broke-when-you-bought-it lightbulb. Alt-Linc’s appeal goes through the roof when he’s standing next to his doppleganger….
I kinda like it. I think it’s the stuff that Peter and Walter did behind the scenes in earlier seasons, kinda like the fishing and skiing trips that went on that were hinted at in specific episodes. I’m sure they had a lot of these ‘bonding’ trips, and it’s kinda cool to see it on screen. In the same way we knew P and O had ‘alone’ time, but we didn’t hear about the Friday night specifics until WTW.
I know it may seem…odd to see them all doing ‘normal’ things in this crazy-Fringe-science-F’d-up-world, but at the same time, it adds a humanizing aspect when they do. Even these beautifully screwed up people, do what they can to squeeze all the good moments out of life too.
Rae, I see what you mean. Earlier (season 2) when they had no idea how big of a problem they were getting into, yes, I would’ve believe they took a day trip, but now?…Nope, I don’t buy it; they should be fishing for Jones, or helping Olivia mastering her abilities, now that, would be a great field trip.
God, I’m glad I’m from this universe. Though I see Altliv’s appeal for a superhero called Mantis (as in, chops of the head of male partner in couple once it’s reproduced) LMAO.
*shudders* But, still. The metaphor stands. It makes me wonder how much of this is intentionally put there by the writers. It might be an inside joke or something…
There really is/was a DC character named Mantis. He doesn’t seem to have enjoyed very much popularity, though. I assume they must have killed off Batman for good in the 1980′s in the “Death of Batman” comic that appeared on Peter’s wall in “Over There”, and few people remember who he was.
I agree about the writing, but I wish they let alone any line about “I lost my partner”…it’s getting annoying. Last episode, when Lincoln was in the car with Peter having their usual topic about Olivia… he says to Peter something like: I don’t know if you know this but I lost my partner…and I was thinking “YOU TOLD HIM THAT!!!, you idiot”…JK, but seriously it’s getting tired.
Yeah, RedBalloon, I am in accord with your thoughts. I think the corrupt Alt Broyles makes a pretty cool observation that Lincoln is more interested in vengeance (I am sorry, I cannot see Lincoln taking his revenge on anyone. I could see Alt Linc doing some serious Godfather-/Goodfellas-type retaliation, but not Over Here Lincoln).
Is it just me though, or does Lincoln’s scenes ‘Over there’ feel alot less….awkward then his ones ‘Over Here’? Kinda like…in our universe, he feels like a set prop, wheras over there, he feels more like an integral aspect of the scene?
Indeed I do, Rae . . . loved that X-Files episode–funny as heck.
In terms of the sneek peeks, they gave me chuckles: Walter and Gene; Batman vs. Mantis . . . gotta love these small differences and Lincoln actually came off kinda cute.
Now, am I excited for the episode? Nope, way too much Lincoln, but I have grown to love Altliv, so that should redeem it.
In all seriousness, I’m going to give Lincoln a chance — we may actually see the point of this character this week. Plus, we won’t have to see him make goo goo eyes at Olivia. By the way, do you think Olivia is going on the day trip with the guys? That would be cool.
It looks like this episode will be also kinda funny!:) And I love it when they explore the differences between Over here and Over there! I’m also wondering if this scene with the cow will be the only scene in Ourverse or if we do become insight in Genes trip with the Bishop boys and hopefully Olivia ….:)!
And wouldn’t it be interesting, if something happened while they were out on their field trip that correlated to Jones somehow? Far-fetched idea, I know, but it wouldn’t be the first time something funky happened in a field because of the big Bad Jones-ie.
Then, alas, what was once a mundane trip, turns into something pivotal. Then members of the audience who weren’t so keen on the pasture idea, would be like…’Oh! So that’s really why they had our characters be out there at that time! So they could be there when that went down!’
For the mythology, that would be pretty awesome, Rae, but for the humor, watching Walter in the pasture with Gene would be PRICELESS. And P/O trying to control Walter would make it EVEN BETTER.
I can’t believe that after what Peter know he’ll not go to the alt!verse to talk with his real mother and father!
And I’ll try to not skip our Lincoln’s scenes (what would be almost the entire episode, as it looks like).
I think I’m starting to understand the feelings of people that are angry with the season and don’t recognize the show anymore as Darth Kate, but for different reasons, of course. All the scenes has Lincoln now, seems that it’s another show and not my beloved Fringe.
Um… ok. Whatever. Farewell my brave Hobbits. My work is now finished. Here at last, on the shores of the sea comes the end of our Fellowship. I will not say, do not weep… not all tears are an evil.
I think Peter may have his face-to-face with Walternate and Elizabeth about this. I imagine that if such a meeting were ever to take place, it would be one of the most wrenching scenes the show has ever had, because Peter would have to choose between his real parents and the only father he has ever known, the one he has wanted to be with in this timeline. In BTWYNB, the chemistry between Joshua Jackson and Orla Brady (and, indeed, between Peter and Elizabeth) was outstanding. If Elizabeth and Walternate knew that this really was THEIR Peter, they would of course want him around. Walter would be beside himself if he had to say goodbye one more time, assuming he completely returns to the Walter we all remember.
The good news is, that scene would most likely never have to be played out, since Peter “ripped holes in both universes, creating a bridge” which can be pretty easily traversed. So he would never have to choose between OH and OT. Think of it as weekend visitation rights for everyone.
I thought the idea behind the holes was to force the universes to work together and fix everything? In that case, they are temporary, and the bridge might be too.
Has anyone ever wondered what the UN thinks of fringe events?
He’s now evil, but I don’t care, AltBroyles is the only good thing about the AltFringe team. Badass!
Screenhog is in all 3 scenes. I guess he absolutely needed to be in the first one for the bad Groucho Marx reactions. I’m afraid the more enjoyable scenes, Gene grazing, ended on the cutting room floor, so I don’t think I’ll get any respite from Screenhog
I always look forward to a Fringe episode. I’ll tell you what, a Fringe episode with Lincoln is far better than most other tv shows; so I will gladly take it and enjoy it.
Now an unrealated topic; I have to make a 20-30 min presentation about our beloved Fringe, and I have no idea, where to begin! I mean, I only started, and I already have 28 slides!
So, please, a litltle help here would be welcome.
I remember last season they had like a whole video series to bring anyone up to speed on the entire show. It was like 6 or 7 videos about two minutes each. If anyone can remember what they were called you could find them on you tube and would help make things more concise. By the way what are you doing a presentation on Fringe for. That sounds so cool.
You are my saviour!!!
And to answer your question, some of my friends wanted to know, what is this series I talk about all the time, and so I decided to make a short presentation on powerpoint, to gain some ”recruits”.
And yes, I saw that video, but I didn’t thought of it at all, so THANK you!!!
If you want to use eppys to set-up your presentation, I would recommend:
* Begin with the Pilot, then go to “There’s More Than One of Everything,” then go to “New Day in the Old Town,” “Jacksonville,” “Peter,” “The Man From the Other Side,” and “Over There Pts 1 and 2″, then “Entrada,” then “The Last Sam Weiss,” then an episode early this season, then “The Enemy of My Enemy.” This should give enough of a lead-in and cover enough of the mythology.
Jeez. That’s an awful selection of episodes. Not the episodes themselves being awful, but you’ve missed out key episodes like 1.04 – Arrival, 2.08 – August [both for Observer information], 2.14 – Jacksonville, 3.15 – Subject 13 [for the Cortexiphan/Peter backstory].
I had thought about Subject 13 (but not “August”), but thought “Peter” would cover Peter’s backstory, plus it would include the Observers. The Pilot, “More Than One of Everything,” “New Day in the Old Town,” “Over There,” and “Entrada” would focus on Olive and her abilities.
Start with an interessting quote.
For example “Reality is just a matter of peception”
Or: “I just want to go back to before”. “Audience, I don’t think you can”.
Looking at the trailer, I have the feeling that Altlivia will shoot Altlincoln as a parallel to Olivia shooting shapeshifter Charlie and it will give some explaination to the “I lost my partner line” being repeated several times recently…
Hopefully I’m wrong as it will mean we are stucked with blue Lincoln
Anyway, I really hope that this episode will be more interesting story development wise than these sneak peeks promise which is not much.
I think it’s going to be AltBroyles that catches a bullet, or AltLinc becomes a shapeshifter. Who knows . . . I can’t wait to see how this episode is going to play out.
My understanding about that is he had a prior commitment to the series “Prime Suspect”, but it has been cancelled.
Based on what little I’ve heard in interviews with Pinkner and Wyman, it seems as though the Ball is in Kirk Acevedo’s court and that they would like to have him back. I don’t what Kirk’s up to now but I hope he makes some time to come back to Fringe Division.
He’s my favorite supporting character by far and his absence has been glaring. Not the same show without the guy.

Sneak Peek #2–Lincoln has no answer. How…unlike his character. (OK, he is dealing with a corrupt Alt Broyles who has an agenda, but still…)

I imagine that they’re showing these ‘minor’ clips because everything else in the episode is integral and would reveal too much.
If the quotes “let us not forget those we have lost” and “officer down!” from the promo are anything to go by, someone’s going to die…
