Last night’s “Entrada” episode of Fringe was down 5% on the previous outing with a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating. We await the final numbers to see whether that changes things. Update: It didn’t.
Well, it didn’t go up. But it’s worth remembering that the January move to a new night gives Fringe an opportunity – the chance to translate its Thursday numbers to Fridays, which might turn out to be a better home in the current climate. The people who really like this show need to stick with it. Be adhesive. When all is said and done, it could be as simple as that.
Keep calm and carry on watching.
The season 3 ratings so far can be found below the fold.

What is wrong with people? Why don’t they watch this show??

Interesting… I was hoping that with the “oh crap we’re being moved to fridays! let’s get everyone to watch this” movement going the ratings would have gone up a bit.

hopefully. In interviews it seems like the producers dont really even care. Like they are ignoring the rating and just saying we are fine when they clearly are not. Maybe they arent going to come out and say they are worried because it would worry fans. Who knows.

I think if the show is going to do better on fridays FOX needs to advertise the crap out of it. I dont think FOX does enough to promote the show. You see a promo at the end of the episode and then i see maybe one commercial around tuesday. I think the loyal fan base will have no trouble moving to Friday. Alot of people go out on Friday nights which worries me.

“Entrada” drew more overall viewers than “The Abducted”, though.

First step is to maintain the same numbers when the show moves to Friday. It will be hard to win new viewers, but it’s essential not to lose the ones we have.

It’s very sad that a tiny piece of audience is the one that decides how many viewers are there. This whole Nielsen ratings thing is a big load of crap! They say that Nielsen boxes are given randomly, but most of smarter people value their privacy, and wouldn’t agree to put Nielsen boxes. So basically it’s up to dumb people to decide if some show stays on the air or not.

This is very disappointing. Fox actually did seem to promote this episode, too, with the movie trailer and everything. What’s most disappointing is that more people did not watch such a great episode. It deserves to be seen.
I’m sticking to this show to the end (which I hope and pray is far into the future), no matter where they move it.

Same! My parents watched live for the first time last night after marathoning the first 2 seasons and catching up on this one. Now I’m working on coworkers ……

I’ve been watching Season 1 with my fiance, and he watched Entrada live with me last night. It made him want to get through the seasons. That’s our A-genda for the winter break. Fringe must be the show that lived.

So did I! since the start of this season ive gotten 4 people total to start watching and ive got one more person about midway through season one right now. I mean, if all of us got at least one person to watch it, the ratings would double.

It’s a little surprising to me that last night’s numbers weren’t higher. This site and the forums were flooded. I couldn’t access them for hours. I take that as a very encouraging sign that there were tons of people who were anxious to talk about this show. why didn’t that show up in the numbers?

I dont get the whole neilson ratings thing, but the raw number was in fact higher than last week, which i think is encouraging. The big thing is that we all have to take advantage of the upcoming mid-season hiatus and get people caught up by the time it resumes in january.

The people i tell Fringe about don’t seem to have the time to keep up with the storyline. This season has been very important to keep up with the storyline compared to other seasons. I think that’s the reason were not getting a lot of viewers. I wish they promote stand alone episodes more, then people will watch it and get hooked on the show even not knowing the whole Olivia thing.

Yeah, but then I’d wanna slash my wrists and bleed out in the bathroom next to that guy Alt-Livia shot. It shouldn’t come down to rewarding the people who don’t have the gumption to watch in the first place. Those aren’t fans, they’re tourists.

I agree ; if Fringe was made something for the masses, I most likely wouldn’t be watching because far too many elements that I enjoy would be missing.

we just have to take advantage of the upcoming hiatus and get people who are interested caught up.

I’m dissapointed too, that the ratings are so low. Gosh, what else to do. I’ve been driving people crazy at work. I’ve recruited a few new Fringer’s but they are catching up and not watching S3 until they’ve seen the rest. So I guess everyone hopefully will tune in in January.
This show has to stay on the air as long as possible.
Life without Fringe is no life.

Hopefully the fans follow it to friday night. Although, considering the way the ratings have gone this season I’m not so confident of that happening. Last nights episode was amazing its a shame it couldn’t pull a higher number.

One of the best ‘Fringe’ episodes, ever.
No doubt about it.
I don’t care about oversees ratings, i care about the fans that are united on sites like these.
Wé, the viewers, the fanbase, wé are important, not some obselete ratings system.
So, again, i ask everyone to get involved in spreading the good word that is vagen.. ehmm… Fringe.
Keep the heads up, people! Walk tall, be a proud fan. We have a great queality show on tv, we can be proud of talking about

I like your thinking Observer1….and to be truthful…i like the fact that Fringe is not a blockbuster show. Sure i wish more people would watch it simply because it is absolute quality tv. People who arent watching it are missing out big time….and those that are watching… well we know that what we are seeing is masterpiece television. It is awesome.
I am doing my bit to spread the word…..i have 4 of my friends currently watching my season 1 and 2 dvds to catch up…and i have season 3 downloads for them. Im even attempting to create my own Fringe christmas cards….hopefully that will spread the word to more people. Fringe is MUST watch tv!
For us Fringe fans….i think we just need to keep talking about this show….it has to catch on eventually. Its too good not to! eNuff said!

You got the point, runpaceyrun. Don’t worry, just enjoy and have a great time and try to hook up more people. TV history is in the making, just as ‘X-Files’ was for the 90′s, so is ‘Fringe’ for the 21st century.
If you know any X-Files fans out there, point them to Fringe. Than the ratings will go sky high.

Let’s make this week (dec.7-dec.14) Fringe-Friday-Fans week:
change all your avatars on Twitter, facebook, forums, and whatever you have to something from ‘Fringe’. A whole week long.
Whenever your contacts ask questions on what it is or why, attend them to the Fringe Fridays and sites like these.
We would make a noticable impact all together. I’m going to change mine right now

A passionate fan base is great and fringe certainly has that, but ultimately that fan base needs to translate into good ratings. Ratings make or break a show and Fringe deserves better numbers then it gets.

At least the numbers of people watching are growing a little… isn’t it good? We are back to 5 milions… this must mean something!

It’s sad that even if I watch it live, it would mean nothing over here since I don’t live in US.
I hope Fox cares about the international reach of this show!

I think the people didn’t give it a chance or they don’t know any thing about this Amazing Show .
Fringe is really really an amazing show , I didn’t take it as a fantasy show or sicf !! all the whole universes war and Walter /Walternate characters = how we are different than the others … how we are all living on one land but with different countries …. and how this countries have different people which they can be the same but with different look and same mind .
Also that can define the different time ! …. as how we can say one phrase with different languages .. but still has the same meaning .
I hope and wish that this show will continue airing ..coz its way much better than any show on TV right now .
regards

The rating system is so obsolete and fox knows that. I ditched cable ($150 a month w/internet) and now have just highspeed internet w/ a netflix, huluplus, subscription with a season pass of Fringe on Amazon VOD (all together about $60 a month, Amazon VOD videos are $1.89 an episode!) That is money in Fox/WB’s pocket! If your a downloader and not a tv viewer, please use Amazon or itunes! They will see that people are watching! In a few years(if not already) download numbers will count!
