Fringe climbed 10% in Thursday’s “Northwest Passage” to a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating with 5.8 million viewers. It’s not great and it’s not where the show could be, but considering the time-slot and the strength of the competition, I’m taking the increase on the previous week as a positive – a step in the right direction, if you will. Thursday’s episode of Fringe was very musical, but not in the “Brown Betty” sense of the word. It featured composition that really breathed life into the narrative and the man helping Chris Tilton and his team? Mike McCready of Pearl Jam.
McCready talks to Entertainment Weekly about how this collaboration came about and his experience working on the Fringe. After the jump is where it’s at.

FRINGE (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Northwest Passage”
Peter teams up with Sheriff Mathis (guest star Martha Plimpton) on a serial murder investigation with ties to Newton (guest star Sebastian Roch). Meanwhile, Walter copes with the possibility of being sent back to St. Claire’s, and someone from the “other side” pays a visit.
