This season, Fringe stands on the brink of greatness. Don’t buy into the muted promotional campaign, the semi-serialized television hopeful is one of 2 or 3 shows that I believe has the potential to take the genre to new heights.
But as with any leap, there are also pitfalls. Dangers lurk around every creative corner and doubt can infect minds faster than a virus.
But where do you take a show that has already come so far using only half of its potential? Do you step on the gas and put your strongest foot forward, or do you take half measures and watch it all apple crumble before your eyes? The road not taken can be a bitter pill to swallow.
So as we step through the last sticky strands of Lowatus fever, I present my 10 Hopes for Fringe Season 3. If by the end of the season Fringe has realized these hopes, I think the genre will have a new hero, and we will have been there to experience it.

They say that what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
By the sounds of things we might have to cling on to this hope as far as our poor faux-red Olivia is concerned. Things could be about to get a bit hairy for her out there on Planet Parallel.
Mild spoilers from executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman follow the jump.

Now that the dust has settled on the climactic second chapter of Fringe, we thought it would be a good opportunity to attempt to unlock the unresolved mysteries and character motivations through a series of articles, videos and general Fringefoolery. We’re calling it the Fringe Unlocked Series. In Part 1 of the series we touch base by taking a look at Walternate and Olivia’s crossed paths while stopping to offer some answers to questions that the show has yet to directly provide.

The producers of Fringe have long maintained that any possible romance between Olivia and Peter needs to be earned.
I absolutely agree with that – Olivia and Peter. If it must happen. Needs to be EARNED.
But..what does “earning it” actually mean? How do our heroes earn their maybe-love? Do they put a few dollars into a meter, then go: “hey honey, we’ve earned it!” before puckering up for a big wet glimmering kiss? Clearly I’m joking (they’d use tokens, not dollars), but it makes me wonder about the mechanics of this ‘earning it’ business.

The green and red pattern color is one of the oldest, most intriguing mysteries of Fringe. They appeared as early as the pilot episode and have had fans guessing ever since. Their meaning is currently unknown, but their significance to the mythology of the show is not to be sniffed at. In this, our first Mysteries of Fringe post, we hope to get closer to understanding the mystery of the green and red pattern by examining their appearances within the show.
Follow us down the rabbit hole, and bring cake and coffee. Or better still, coffee cake.

By now I’m sure that most of you will have seen the Anna Torv photoshoot with Esquire? From what I can gather the NSFW photos caused quite a stir within certain sections, as Torv revealed more than an eyeful for the adoring cameras.
You may also have noticed that we haven’t covered it on the blog. Until now that is..

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been looking at various implications of the Jacksonville fall-out. We’ve speculated how Peter will react when he finds out the truth about Walter stealing him from the alternate universe, and we’ve discussed whether or not Olivia should be the one to drop the truth bomb – giving us one of our closest fan polls to date.
With this in mind, it’s reasonable to assume that both Olivia and Peter will face major tests of character over the next few episodes, which leads me to wonder: who is the strong one, and how do we define their strengths?

Ah Valentine’s day, that special time of year when lovers across the world get together to show each other just how much they care. Given that we have so many lovers on Fringe (work with me here), I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a look back at the best and the worst loved-up moments from the past season and half of the show.
Bring tissues, chocolates and possibly a bucket as we head below the jump.
