Olivia Dunham

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been looking at various implications of the Jacksonville fall-out. We’ve speculated how Peter will react when he finds out the truth about Walter stealing him from the alternate universe, and we’ve discussed whether or not Olivia should be the one to drop the truth bomb – giving us one of our closest fan polls to date.

With this in mind, it’s reasonable to assume that both Olivia and Peter will face major tests of character over the next few episodes, which leads me to wonder: who is the strong one, and how do we define their strengths?

Ah Valentine’s day, that special time of year when lovers across the world get together to show each other just how much they care. Given that we have so many lovers on Fringe (work with me here), I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a look back at the best and the worst loved-up moments from the past season and half of the show.

Bring tissues, chocolates and possibly a bucket as we head below the jump.

FOX have released a Valentine’s Day promo under the slogan “behind every strong man is an even stronger woman”. The promo features familiar faces from various FOX shows, including our very own Fringies, Olivia and Peter. It’s times like this that I wonder what could have been had Olivia not seen him glimmer. Anyway, continue past the break to watch the video.

So the weight of the wait is upon us as we arrive at our first Fringe-less Thursday until April 1st. But worry not, Jacksonville left us with a heap of intriguing plot pieces which we will not doubt go over during the break.

But if you think we have it bad with what must be the 47th Lowatus of the season, spare a thought for poor Olivia. There she was, hair firmly DOWN, and all ready for a night out with Peter – then she finds out that he’s from the alterverse. Total Mood Kill!

Last week Fringe went out with a bang as universes collided, revelations unfolded and a drinks date was dramatically canceled. (well, it was, wasn’t it?). The mythology-heavy, character driven “Jacksonville” is definitely one of our highlights of the season so far, making the 2 month Lowatus even harder.

After the jump, Fringe executive producers and writers, Jeff Pinkner and J.H Wyman, offer their interpretation of the episode in the latest “Fringe Secrets” video. Plus, we have the ratings news and the Popular Mechanics view on the science of Jacksonville’s ‘mass for mass’ plot device.

That image seems like a long time ago, doesn’t it? I think it was one of the first moments when the show broke free from the shackles and realised just how awesome it was. We hit a groove..I say “we” because we were all there with Dunham, sorry, “Super Dunham”, as she stared down those lights, took a huge gulp and dared to believe.

Whatever happened to Super Dunham? :(

Fringe: Best Moments 2009

With 2009 nearing its end we thought we’d follow up our “10 Most Fascinating Characters” retrospective with a look back at our 10 Best Fringe Moments from the past year. Let me tell you, it was NOT easy to select just 10 moments from the 20 episodes that aired in 2009. However we painstakingly cast our minds back to the very best (and in some cases, most significant) moments from those episodes and came up our ordered list, counting down to what we believe was the very best Fringe moment of 2009.

See whether or not you agree with our choices below the jump.

Just the two of us

One of the areas Fringe excels most is with its characters. Our band of heroes (and villains) who – rain or shine, stand-alone or serialized – make Fringe such an addictive show, week-in week-out.

With that in mind, today we want to find out which relationship Fringe fans love the most? After the break we put the Fringies in pairs and open the floor for your votes.
