Oh boy, she’s gonna play it off and suffer in silence. I can’t say I’m surprised really, it would be unlike Olivia to do anything else. That said seeing her suffer in silence, like the quick clip they showed, is going to be absolutely heartbreaking.

It looks like she will put a brave front in front of Peter and have a breakdown in private. Oh poor poor poor Olivia.

I wouldn’t have expected anything different from Olivia. Always putting on a brave face and then suffering all alone. Where’s Rachel?

That is a very good question. Where IS Rachel? Let’s be honset, Peter was not the only one to fall for Altlivia’s act ( “vagenda” just doesn’t work when talking about siblings).

O the angst!! The angst!! Seriously though they are both gonna be messed up after this. So no rest for the weary they just go right back into cases??

I’ll be thrilled to see that conversation, because Anna Torv can say so much with just the twinge of an eyebrow. Will she be able to complete hold it together while Peter spits it out, or will we see glimpses of her pain and confusion.

After all, the news that he “fell in love” with who he THOUGHT was her would be confusing — would it bode well for a future together or would it be a true betrayal. I guess it depends on how well she identified with AltLivia. Does she see AltLiv as herself, as she did in “Over There, Pt. 2″ or did her experience “being” Altlivia highlight the ways in which they’re different.

Who Olivia thinks she IS might inform how she takes this news in the long run.

In the immediate enlightening, however, it would be excruciating.

I’m glad to hear you say that in the first sentence. Early in Fringe’s run you’d hear over and over that Anna Torv was the weak link in the show. But she’s really shown what she can do in this season.

Seems Olivia is not quite as cool with this revelation as she lets on. :0

I’m soo sorry for Olivia. Actually she has had enough pain for the next century and I don’t mean it just physically mentally as well. Peter….. How could he actually think that the other was ours????
Kick him Liv!! He deserves that!

I know that both Olivia and Peter will be hurting….but its the optimist in me that hopes that she ultimately turns to Peter for support. Olivia cant keep all these feelings to herself……it will kill her. She needs to let someone in and it should be Peter. There is no one else closer to her than Peter (not even Rachel)They will always love and care for each other….but for now it will have to be ‘love and care’ for each other as friends.
The angst and heartache is hard to watch but i have been waiting to see how its all going to be played out. I know i wont be disappointed because both Anna and Josh are great actors and they will totally do this story line justice. And of course, Walter will be there to play the fatherly role offering the odd piece of sage advice …..in amongst his other mad ramblings. I so love and adore this show. There is simply nothing else like it on tv!

I hope and wish that Peter will come to her home and see what she is doing … but … we only have a hope .. right ?

aaaack! Can’t wait for next week!
IDK i somehow see she might seek some guidance with Astrid or even Walter (indirectly), but no one straightforward… idk.
I’d totally give her a bear hug and invite her a few beers.

BTW I’m happy I never went Over There, coffee absence would just kill me.

Is it just me, or are these Canadian promos terrible? No pace, no music, booring editing…

Anyway, I’m glad we finally have our Olivia back and on a case. These past 8 episodes were great, but I miss the old Fringe a bit. I could definitely go for a standalone episode right now.

Back to Sam Weiss for Olivia? Would make sense. And “Don’t trust Sam Weiss” is the clue for the season? Would also make sense.

Most curious is the listing for “The Gentleman” as a character. Is this man referred to by Jones in “In Which We Meet Mr. Jones?”

And the reanimating should be a cool case of the week. But I definitely hope it ties back in to the Jones episode.

Season Three is so good so far. Think of where we were at this point in Season One. We had only just learned about Cortexifan and were at the very beginning of the Loeb/Jones plot.

In Season Two at Episode 8, we hadn’t even met Newton yet.

Seems like so much more has already happenned in Season 3 than at this point in seasons past, and so much more of the Fringeverse has been filled in.

As much as some ragged on ‘Brown Betty’, I think it’s time we all re-watch the episode because a lot of season 3 episodes have referenced it. Even in ‘Entrada’ Walter was all in tizzy because he was out of his Brown Betty. Now we have the reanimation device being used in ‘Marionette’.

I think when this season is all said and done ‘Brown Betty’ will be looked at as an entire Easter egg episode for season 3.

You are so right. Little clues and references to Brown Betty have inundated Season 3. The Candyman? reanimation? Walter accused of “stealing children’s youth”? Olivia and Peter dancing? Now in the next episode, the victim’s HEART is stolen!

After reading your comment RoSull i went back and rewatched Brown Betty twice (any excuse is a good excuse to rewatch Fringe eps!) And you could be on to something here. So many things jumped out at me…and referenced write back to season 3 eps. In Brown Betty, Olivia is investigating to see if ‘true love’ really does exsist….does this say something about what is happening right now? During her investigations she is shoved into a wooden crate and thrown overboard. Once again we see Olivia submerged in water…in what could be considered a sensory deprived environment…. And then of course Peter rescues her….. So many links and parallels. Even the power source in Entrada had two halves just like the glass heart in Brown Betty. Oh, its just freakin me out! I could keep going on and on….And to think, some people didnt like Brown Betty. Turns out that it may have been the one episode that foreshadowed what would happen in season 3. The writers and producers of Fringe are just so amazing!

I love Brown Betty and now that everyone is talking about the episode it made me think too.
I was just listening to the song Olivia sang to Peter:

For once in my life I have someone who needs me,
        someone I’ve needed so long.
For once in my life I can go where life leeds me,
and somehow I know I’ll be strong.
For once in my life I won’t let sorrow hurt me,
not like it’s hurt me before.
For once in my life I have something I know won’t desert me.
        I’m not alone anymore.

Knowing what’s coming makes this even more heart wrenching.

Olivia… she has hard stuff to handle… she will miss Charlie very much… he was always there to comfort her… to tell her that everything´s gonna be fine…
but Peter is broken too… I feel sorry for him… in Entrada he always looked like he would burst in tears… I hope they can fix the things but don´t expect it could be soon… I think they must put the relationship in stand by…

Yeah.. Charlie was a good friend. Does this mean the return of Sam Weiss? He’s been kind of a friend to her even though his nature is still a mystery. Both Peter and Olivia need time to heal and regroup from what happened, not just relationship wise but everything else as well. The way Peter looked at Altlivia when he found the photo in her bag… there is a slight emotion there that he needs to work out. He needs to accept that the idea of Olivia is not the real Olivia, even if he wishes it to be so.

Whether or not Peter has feelings for Alt-Liv, he’s still going to miss the intimacy of being in a relationship and happy, even though he now knows it was built on a lie. In some ways it’s reminiscent of a third-season Farscape story arc in which Aeryn Sun fell for a clone of Crichton, only to have him die tragically. Afterward, she couldn’t even stand to be around the original Crichton, since he reminded her too much of what she’d lost. We may see some of this in Peter’s attitude toward Olivia, while she is going to be hurt and angered by what she sees as a betrayal (not only by Peter, but by the entire Fringe team.) Hopefully we will see the relationship start to repair itself over the course of the season. (Or, as my Signifigant Other predicted, Peter may decide he really cares for Alt-Liv instead, and become motivated to follow her to the parallel universe.)

I was thinking that was Walternate plan ! .. to make his son fall in love with the Alt-Olivia instead of the real Olivia so he can have him back to his universe . Same time it was the same plan of Walter .. he is liking Olivia and would like to put the 2 together since season 1 .

I think Peter should know that he belongs with Olivia not Alt-Olivia , its not the look or the hair or even the sex what may build the relationship , its the mind and the deep feeling and the way of think .

Peter and Olivia both would like to save both universes , other than them no one . all are convinced that only one universe will survive … Walte ,Walternate and Bell and Nina and Alt-Olivia .

Peter should see his feeling and be more smart than that .

I dont see how anyone could say that Peter might have feelings for Altlivia! She deceived him in a huge way. There’s no coming back from there……on a tv show or in real life. There can be no form of relationship when that depth of deception has occured.
Peter is hurting right now and Olivia is in for a whole world of pain…..but they will fix it…..eventually. For the time being they both have a job to do. Olivia is going to keep her promise to AltBroyles and Peter has to work on figuring out the part he plays in the vacuum device. Peter and Olivia both have the same goal……they want to save both universes. Alt-livia doesnt…..and Peter knows that. Another point of difference!

I agree. Peter isn’t and never was in love with Bolivia. “If I find out that you’ve done anything to Olivia, I’ll kill you.” How much plainer could he be? He thought she was our Olivia when he was “loving” her. Period.

As always Catherine, i agree with you totally. The two of us united in defence of Peter. He loves Olivia….our Olivia…..and that is that!
Olivia once said to Peter ‘you belong with me’…….and whilst she might be about to be in for a fair amount of hurt and pain….she still knows it to be true. And so does Peter!
Id love to see both of them kick Alt-livia’s ass!

Remember Walternate never intended to send Olivia back to our universe alive, so getting Peter to fall for her alternate and follow her back to the AU may well have been a part of his plan.

And while Peter is certainly very angry with Alt-Olivia right now, as I said in an earlier post he will almost certainly miss the relationship if not the person. After all, he never even had a date in over two years (that we know of, anyway,) and Olivia, though she may pretend everything’s fine, is likely to be pretty cold and resentful towards him for a while. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he finds himself thinking longingly of Alt-Liv a few weeks or months down the line, even if he knows rationally that it’s a bad idea.

I started to think that …. something special will connect Peter to our Olivia and our Olivia to Peter … maybe from their childhood ? … maybe Walter is knowing something else about Olivia fate and Peter fate ? I don’t know am keep thinking about that !!

Is it Dec 09 yet ?

Can’t get enough watching the previews for the next episode. Just realized something. Whenever Olivia says, “We’re good” or “I’m good”. She is lying (or at least not willing to admit she is not). She said it after meeting Raul Lugo’s wife, meeting up again with Walter and Peter. She said it when she was with Lucas.
Just as Peter is willing to tell the truth, I hope at one point Olivia will be brave and strong enough again to also confide in Peter.

I agree with the lying thing , but I guess her words was for Peter , I did re-watch it many times also ! LOL , she said : It’s fine we’re good , so quickly I guess , I take it as one phrase ,

I think it’s Peter’s time now to fix and to know who’s Olivia and to see the difference between her and her alt version .

As how they let us watch the romance between Peter/AltOlivia .. i think it will be fair to see the romance between Peter/Olivia .. for real now lol :)

    I hope so …
