Check out this post over at Fringe-Forum – a member there has posted the clip for download (it’s not the whole song, unfortunately).

i hope/wish it was an actual song.

My understanding is that it was composed specifically for the show.

I’m a latecomer here, but I have definitely heard this piece before. It was featured in this obscure made-for-TV film of The Secret Garden back in 1987. It’s one of Chopin’s Nocturnes in E minor. There’s video of someone playing it here:

Oops, that’s the wrong piece, my bad! Sorry, I was googling around to find the first song Ben played without realising there was a second one and I got my tabs crossed. So yeah. Ignore me.

The song he plays when brought home from the hospital is Chopin’s Nocturne #19 in e minor op. 72/1 as for his composed song I am not entirely sure. The song however, does sound extremely Chopin-esque. I will see if I can find anymore about the song, as I enjoy it myself.

I love this song. You can see the music pages at various points in the show, any chance of reconstruction from there do you think? Theoretically it could be recreated on Noteworthy or something.
If anyone finds it please let me know. It’s so pretty and I’d love to do a skate program to it.

BTW Fringe is brilliant. I hope it keeps going and comes to Aus on DVD – Fast!

Hey! does any of you knows if there’s the sheet music to play it on the piano? =D
I have the song and it’s about 6 mins… something and it’s beautiful!
It’s sad that they only have the piano ver. complete in stead of the openning with the full orchestra. =[

I’ve managed a small about of the musical transformation, using Noteworthy, mostly what’s featured here. I have the full song which is the theme of Fringe and includes part of Ben’s song. I also have the very short version featured here but that one’s only 22 seconds.
If you want any of these just comment on my blog.
