What is “Fringe”?

Fringe is a Fox television show from JJ. Abrams (”LOST”, “Alias”, “Cloverfield”, “Startrek”) and his creative stable ‘Bad Robot’, which includes writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman:

Fringe is a new drama that will thrill, terrify and explore the blurring line between science fiction and reality.

When an international flight lands at Boston’s Logan Airport and the passengers and crew have all died grisly deaths, FBI Special Agent OLIVIA DUNHAM (newcomer Anna Torv) is called in to investigate. After her partner, Special Agent JOHN SCOTT (Mark Valley, “Boston Legal”), is nearly killed during the investigation, a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help, leading her to DR. WALTER BISHOP (John Noble, “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”), our generation’s Einstein. There’s only one catch: he’s been institutionalized for the last 20 years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son PETER (Joshua Jackson, “Dawson’s Creek”) in to help.

When Olivia’s investigation leads her to manipulative corporate executive NINA SHARP (Blair Brown, “Altered States”), our unlikely trio along with fellow FBI Agents PHILLIP BROYLES (Lance Reddick, “The Wire”), CHARLIE FRANCIS (Kirk Acevedo, “Oz”) and ASTRID FARNSWORTH (Jasika Nicole, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”) will discover that what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth.

“Fringe” will center around a field of science known as “Fringe Science”. Fringe science deals with science that is on the edge, or ‘fringe’, of mainstream science. Fringe science should not be confused with “pseudo science” (which lacks scientific credibility), because fringe science holds more plausibility and possibility, however extraordinary.

Welcome to FringeBloggers.com- a fansite devoted to the television show, “Fringe”, and whatever else JJ Abrams and Bad Robot inspire us to blog about. Our core focus is “Fringe”, however, and we’ll post news, commentary, spoilers, opinion, rants, reviews, pictures, theories, previews, videos and anything else that interests us from the world of Fringe. We just want to have fun following the show, we hope you do to.

WHO ARE WE?

We’re a group of Fringe fans (okay, technically we don’t know whether we’ll love the show yet, but we DO love the premise and the creative concept of the show) who love nothing more than to blog, speculate and basically have some fun talking about Fringe with like-minded peeps.

WHO WE ARE NOT

We’re not Bad Robot (although everyday we do dream of becoming robots..naughty ones who steal sweets and and eat candy until our bellies explode), we’re not JJ Abrams (hail, hail!) and we’re not FOX/Warner Bros. Nor do we take credit for any of their productions. We’re just us. Who are you?
