Walter has shares the contents of his mind with us, post-”The Road Not Taken”.
- Walter confirms that he didn’t write the manifesto after all.
- Walter makes a comparison between the Chapter of Ethics and the Gospel of Judas, and suggests that the once missing chapter recontextualizes the manifesto. He believes that it will vindicate William Bell of ill-intent.
- He confirms that foodstuffs help to trigger old memories locked away in his head. (this places a more intentional reason behind his food cravings than we’ve perhaps seen in the show so far).
- Walter suggests that the manipulation of fire is at the root of all ages of man and myth. He relates different fire-orientated tales to the pattern-event witnessed in this episode – Steven King’s “Carrie“, Prometheus, Mixcoatl, Surtr, and Vulcan (Mulciber). Walter also remarks, as I did a few months ago, that fire is so often the metaphor for technology, and acknowledges its duality in both producing and destroying. (A possible allusion to the how one might perceive the ZFT rhetoric, perhaps?). In-keeping with that line of thought, he questions whether it’s mere coincidence that Susan Pratt had a twin, or design.
- Walt accepts that Olivia has every right to be angry at him. Her demanding answers is no more than she deserves. He suggests that it’s for every-one’s good that he should attempt to provide answers for her — again, hinting at the interconnected, chain-of-events stuff that I’ve been banging on about for a while now.
- The notes are accompanied by 2 more pieces of the Fibonacci puzzle, drawings of Fire God Mulciber/Vulcan and a photo of (what remains of) Susan Pratt.
- It’s also worth noting that gone are the elevated “y’s”, signifying that Walt is back to using his own typewriter.

I think the Frankenstein references are important as well … and I won’t believe Bell wrote the ZFT until I hear it from his mouth, and even then …. typewriter bought on a rainy day or no …. O_o
Hey, Prometheus does ring a bell. MD, formerly known as Prometheus Corporation… Someone is giving us a hint, I guess.
(Roco, your blog is giving me troubles with Firefox, I have to use Safari in order to see what you write without having the browser not responding… I don’t know if I’m the only one)
(Hmm, thanks for the heads-up AnaA. Is this a recent problem, or have you been unable to read the site with Firefox for a while?
I haven’t received any reported problems with Firefox – that said I’ll look into it!)
It’s been like this for a while. I have the same problem witth ********* (actually, the problem started there instead of here).
If I take more than a minute to check the blog, Firefox stops responding. I have to force the exit ’cause all blocks and I can’t use Firefox anymore until I restart it.
I’m going to run some more tests today to see if I can see whether it’s a problem with the site. If it’s not, it might be a problem at your end, with your browser perhaps?
Thanks again – I’ll post here with any updates!
