Fringe‘s audience grew from last week, reaching 9.36 million and beating out it’s rival “The Mentalist” in the key demos, in another successful week for the JJ. Abrams show. TVByTheNumbers have more:
Fox’s Fringe was up in viewers and in both demos versus last week’s overnight number, growing to 9.36 million from last week’s 8.88 million. It’s 18-49 demo rating grew from a 4.0 to a 4.2. There is usually a little spillover into the 9pm hour from House, and I’m not sure if that was greater than it was last week.
Looking at the half hourly data for Fringe, it continues to be the case that Fringe bleeds out a lot of viewers from the first half hour to the second. Last night at 9pm it averaged 9.95 million, but at 9:30 only 8.76 million. Still, even in the 9:30 half hour Fringe bested The Mentalistamong 18-49 year olds and crushed it among 18-34 year olds. I’m sure CBS is still pretty happy with The Mentalist’s 15.83 million average viewers for the hour, and it’s demo numbers are as good, or better, than NCIS. But NBC’s Biggest Loser: Families bested The Mentalist in the demos, and though it still trails Fringe, it give Fringe a run for its money in the 9:30p half hour where Fringe is better than Biggest Loseramong 18-49 year olds by only a tenth of a ratings point (3.9 to 3.8)
